My SVS PB13-Ultra will be delivered tomorrow (talked to the freight company today). I'm so stoked!!

I'll be sure to post pics of the wife on the floor after she sees the size of the box.

Have some flowers ready in case you don't want to sleep on the couch.

Nice! At least it's not the cylinder version... Your wife would be on her way to the hospital in that case!

Report back when you stop listening to it for a second

This is my sub, the Epik Conquest which has an 18" driver and a 1000 watt Bash Amp:

I am reluctant to post my system until I move, however, I will be posting my Turntable system shortly, once it is completed.

How much does that monster weigh? How did you move it around to find the optimum position for it?

This monster weighs in at about 200 pounds and about 350 pounds crated. We had a dickens of a time unloading it and getting it out of the crate and into the living room.

Unfortunately, I have a small living room (about 11' X 12') until I move. So, it is placed in basically the only available spot at this point, so it is not optimized, but we did adjust the output to match the other speakers in the system. I could slide the sub on the carpet and placed the footers under it once we set the unit in place. Optimum or more optimized placement will need to wait till I move and either build a house and prepare a room or buy a house and build a room (I would like something about 20' X 35' preferably with a 10' ceiling). This is why I do not want to post the home theater until it is ready, though I may post some of the equipment without really showing how it is set-up in the room.

Rich

I can recommend some good chiropractors.

I would love to see pictures of your finished turntable.

I think you should keep this sub and build a new one from scratch. Two subwoofers in a room work a lot better in taming the standing waves.

Tell her thanks! We love our kitchen. It's probably my second favorite room, right behind my living room.

Seriously though, the WAF on the STF-2 is very high. It's got some size to it, but it's more tall than wide so the footprint is still relatively small.

Agreed. I've always loved the look of the Earthquakes. They're so pretty! And they're supposed to be just evil sounding.

A few pics of my Paradigm Servo 15v2
Frequency Response +/-3dB from 15Hz, but usable output down to 12Hz.
4500 Watts peak, 1500 watts RMS, listed consumption on back is 1800W.
15" mother of a driver. Sealed sub.

Pulling it out for these pics made me realize that I need to give it a wee clean, and dust underneath my front speakers as you can see the dust behind the spikes.

The Servo is sitting on an Auralex Gramma ($49.95 from Sweetwater) to keep from losing energy to the walls/floors. If it loses anything, I'm unaware of it!!

Panorama:

I'll start my own gallery of pics later this year once my wife and I move into our new home, then I can set everything up the way I want it. Until then I'm not too concerned with wires showing, tidyness, etc.

Mdabb,

The finish of that Earthquake is certainly unique. Does it match your other speakers? How much does it weigh? Give us a mini review.

First of all, thanks guys for the compliment !!!

I do love my sub and it is unique and smallish. It is only used for home theater duty, which was what I was looking for. For those who don't know the way my setup is, I have basically two systems in one. I am both.... a big music lover and love movies as well. However music is closest to my heart.

The sub weighs somewhere around 90 lbs. I can't remember the frequency response and will have to bust out the owner's manual, but it does get pretty low. You can also feel it in your butt and your chest when the occasion arises. The amp is a 600 watt class D BASH amp. The sub has one active 12" subwoofer driver and two 12" passive radiators sandwiched together. People looking for a heavy hitter should take a good look at Earthquake it packs a huge wallop and means serious business !!! Plus It's physically smallish and available at varying price points depending on finish.

Now I don't have this sub turned up all that much, maybe a third of the way and the cuttoff is set at 60hz. This sub will definitely surprise with its power and the ability to get low. "I" (my opinion) wouldn't consider this sub a musical one, but that is OK with me since I have towers and the bass that comes out of my Dali Helicon 800's is very nice and satisfying.

I was thinking of getting the matching Cherry finish Dali Helicon sub to match the rest of my speakers but the Earthquake outperforms the Dali when it comes to home theater use, so I went with the Supernova MKV 12 incher. Plus the Dali sub is big and limiting on placement. The Burlwood finish was chosen because I love wood finishes. I was gonna go with a black finish but I wanted to have some fun. Personally I think it blends well in my system and CFL lighting doesn't even do the wood finish justice in pictures. I will be taking pics of my entire setup in natural daylight one day coming up. I'm still trying to figure out how to get everything in a wide shot and not lose the detail.

If anyone has any questions, just ask !!!
