Indeed, I'm afraid you'll have to take it up with my #$&#! auto correcting phone. I can't seem to put any words together.

The only logical conclusion when you have an LG C7 + Samsung S9 + a copy of Blade Runner 4K...

Really? I found Rachael to be the most photo realistic CG person I have ever seen in a movie. Leaps and bounds beyond Rogue One.

It really did look amazing. After leaving the theater I was so convinced at first they had done some crazy makeup transformation on the actual Sean Young.

Wow is this grainy! I understand a movie having grain, but this much? It's distracting as hell! Looks blurry too. Are there bad discs out there? This can't be how this looks in 4k.

No bad discs out there. This looks almost perfect the way it is.

Actually where it's the worst, it just looks like noise. I only saw it once back then, but I don't remember it being this grainy. Maybe it was and I just didn't notice. But wow!

Well, I guess I just didn't notice it then. No movie comes close to this much intentional grain.

Ok I just compared it to the standard bluray and the 4k certainly is superior. And I turned off my contrast which helped. So this one was on me. Now the grain looks more natural and the optics look more in line with how a movie this old probably should look in UHD. So in other words, carry on. lol

So, then, did you watch it in black or in white?

Oh yeah, you gotta turn all that junk off. As a general rule, in the settings menu, you should turn off anything that looks like a "picture enhancing feature" like noise reduction, sharpening, dynamic anything, smooth-motion, etc.

I don't have many 4k flicks yet, but none have looked bad with that on like this disc, but I bet if I go back and rewatch them, they might look even better. I generally take it movie by movie, but maybe I'll just leave that off.

This is the first time I have seen this since it came out, and boy did I forget how much of an 80's movie it is. And sometimes product placement is not your friend. 😉 I hope 2049 fleshes out the story more; watching it tomorrow. 👍
