Maybe Sony is giving Candyman a 4K UHD.

...honestly, I really don't want a Scream Factory Collector's Edition with silly slipcover drama and whatnot. I already got the Arrow Video LE pre-ordered and us getting a 4K UHD in the States would be a great companion to Arrow's lavish set.

Sorry Jay not a fan boy like you, gotta be real about it. And besides you just burned yourself that list isn't very impressive. I do have In the Mouth of Madness ordered and about four other titles like House on Haunted Hill so your assumption that I hate everything is wrong ...again. They can do better though and hopefully will step it up at SDCC

I can’t see Sony releasing Candyman straight to UHD without making a few bucks on a BD release first, but stranger things have happened.

In the Mouth of Madness and Memoirs of an Invisible Man were just delivered! 2 more weeks until my John Carpenter collection is finally complete on BD!

BTW, Memoirs came in a BD case that is more akin to what Olive uses. Weird. But this is why I keep spares around.

Any chance you can list the running times for the extras on In the mouth of madness ?

Alright, so as someone very familiar with Best Buy's SKUs, it looks like that's not an instore item, meaning probably not a Universal release. That's definitely something special, as the 8 digit SKUs are typically only used for boutique Blu-rays.

At $14.99 it's clearly not something that's special or from Scream Factory. It's likely just a Best Buy exclusive Steelbook or some other re-hash.

It may just be a really barebones release.
This is the new Shout Select Mac and Me, it's only listed for 15.99:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/bd-mac-...?skuId=6272410

However, usually for Shout releases it does say Collector's Edition in the url, so then again perhaps not.
Either way, this is an interesting release, as I am sure it's not an instore item.

Perhaps, but I don't see Scream Factory taking the time to release the title if they can't do it right. It's been my understanding that, that was one of the prime barriers which prevented Scream Factory from working with Sony previously in that Sony wouldn't allow new special features to be created. This is Universal we're talking about here, who have never had such a rule. there's no way Shout Factory would take the license to that film and then not do it up grand. It's easily on the same level as Creepshow (if not much higher) and would get similar treatment.

Arrow UK’s Candyman listing now says

Quote:
Brand new 2K restoration from a new 4k scan of the original negative
My guess is that SF will announce it at SDCC for a early November release.

Man if these comments are already getting negative with only 7 days to SDCC, can you imagine what its going to be like after they announce the 10+ titles.

"Im so mad they only announced Critters, Candyman, and Deadly Friend while the rest are all double dips, can you believe it! It's new releases or bust for ME. I already own all those other movies and so should everyone else at this point!"

If they announce a CE of Deadly Friend with chances of including the DC all the other announcements can be double dips for all I care
But, if they're having trouble locating film elements for the extended version of TCM NG, which has been released already in several formats, I'm not gonna keep my hopes up for a DC that has never seen the light of day.

Lol right? People think SF can just get any movie ever released. They sound like whiny brats, I’m hoping for Beetlejuice, The Hitcher, Inside, amongst others. Not going to cry if they don’t announce those titles though.

Honestly, if they give me Critters 1-2 and Deadly Friend, I’m content. Anything else is icing on the cake. Fright Night II would be nice too.

I think most of us don’t mind double dips if they bring susbstantial new content to the table. For me, it needs more than gimmick packaging to buy a movie again.

Someone asked about DOTD being announced at Comic Con...

They’re trying, but Rubinstein is still living in fantasyland.
