I'm checking on it.

Normally the schedule isn't changed once the title is announced.

Default In Case Somebody Doesn’t Get It

If Robert the "Z-man" is “neutral” then the color red should be considered another one of those earth tone colors.

My goodness, does Robert suffer from selective memory loss regarding innuendos and overt statements he’s made on the HD DVD player and software forums……..especially a month or so prior to the last CES ?

I agree his company demonstrates excellent personal service but, that does not give one the right to appear “neutral” when one (clearly by past words and actions) couldn’t be farther from the middle of the fence.

Cowboy Up Robert !
Bill Hunt did and is the better man for it.

Guys,
I've just been swamped recently and haven't had time to catch up on this forum.
Now, I see my PM's are stacking up again.

To all those that PM'ed me, please be patient, I'll get to them when I can.

Pento-man I guess you have not been reading the BS he was posting way before that. He was posting nothing but garbadge concerning BD and HD DVD on AVS since 2005

So the latest word is that the marketing department wants to move this in to next year. There are no technical issues, but the extra time will allow more work on the added value.

Would it help if we promised not to complain if they released the movie in October and then double-dipped with extras later?

How about we get Ghostbusters 1 and 2 BD's as a consolation? Pretty Please

So, a pile of extras? Perhaps some involvement from the Verhoeven?

If it is added value, I think it's worth the wait.

I don't know if anybody else have commeted on this yet but... woohoo! D

So what's the story with the delay on Starship Troopers? Soft transfer or audio issues? Or an extended cut/branching? EDIT: Ignore this. You answered already!

You said that the BDA is testing (or perhaps just finished) BD+. Will SPHE be using it on an upcoming title?

I would guess it's safe to say that all the studios will be doing it

Great but what's the point to announce it 2 days prior then? I assume the announcement has made the same marketing department...
I don't get it. Sony a little strange in these days (months) PR vise
Just look at the PS3...

Paidgeek, did you find the poll regarding extras valuable? Out of 123 answers, 64 wanted extras and 59 didn't care much for them. This shows that extras are somewhat important and if a studios want people to replace their DVD catalog titles with BD's they should be worth the upgrade in more than audio/video. Maybe polls and discussions like this are already starting to pay off, I will rather wait for a added value 'Starship Troopers' than buy a slim version today!

Just a note - those people impatient for ST can still get the disc from other places as it's being released in Japan, Europe and Australia.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000QUCTYY/
http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/3...s/Product.html
http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/793323

paid, can you confirm if these are all region free, or do region A users have to get the Japanese release to insure it plays?

Sony have announced in one of it's news letters that it will only release region free discs in Europe. I haven't seen any change from this. It was announced in about the same time Sony and Disney said they would only use Region 1 coding on new releases and not on catalogue titles.

ST is not a Sony release in Europe; its Disney. Apparently it is region free though.

Can you or anyone else please find a link to prove that?

Thanks

These are great titles, but they don't showcase HD.

Agreed, not a brilliant bit of planning. Then again, I'm the one the left the house for a short vacation driving up the coast without my wallet. Nothing like sucking up to the wife when she has the ATM and credit cards when you find its gone missing at the first gas station....
