I wonder if Michael Jackson's Thriller video and doc release will be announced at SDCC. That video is such a part of my 20's I would be so in.

That reminds me I have wanted a release of Michael Jackson's Ghosts. Co-written by Stephen King and Mick Garris, directed by Stan Winston, you've gotta think somebody could move a few copies of that?

I believe it's part of the TCM collection, not Criterion. As you can see from the screenshot its in Filmstruck but it doesn't have the "C" imprinted like the film on top of it does.

Yeah, you’re right, I forgot about those. We might see some Universal titles announced at Comic Con, along with titles from Sony and WB.

Warner still owns the film, Criterion only has the streaming rights. Besides, the fact that it is on Filmstruck does not mean an impeding release. There's plenty of titles there with no foreseeable release.

So by itself it doesn't really mean anything, but the latest issue of Horror Hound Magazine just happens to have another Horrors Hallowed Grounds feature. This one just happens to be for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4. With this latest addition there are now HHG segments for the first 4 Nightmare films.

It probably means nothing, but I know one of the many things I've mentioned before here on this site was that if I was to do a new Nightmare on Elm Street Boxset, I'd be sure to include HHG segments for all of the films, and with this latest addition we now have the first 4 films covered for sure.

A NOES boxset has to be announced at SDCC. There’s just no way SF have a deal with Warner and don’t release those films, and there’s no better place to make that announcement.

Not necessarily. We have no idea if WB will allow Scream to release the Nightmare films. But I would definitely be happy if Scream announced the films at Comic Con.

I honestly don’t see why they wouldn’t. It’s not like Warner is going to do anything with them, and they already released a boxset long ago. ANOES series is one of the most popular horror franchises of all time, you have to think that was a big part of SF’s plans.

I do believe that we will eventually get a nightmare set, but I no longer think that it will be announced this year. I'd love nothing more than for it to be announced at comic con, but I just don't see it happening this year. I'm much more convinced that we'll be getting a lot more of the mainstream (ie. not really horror) efforts I've mentioned previously this year and into next summer.

Never understood the appeal of buttons/pins (from any company). They are essentially throw away items so I'd rather have something a bit more practical/fun as my throw away item. Give me the coasters/magnets any day of the week. These are particularly uninspired but expected as the buttons have never been used to reveal new titles. To be honest I have no idea why Shout Factory bothers keeping these under wraps until the convention. Nearly every manufacturer with something to show at the convention has some sort of exclusive and they all show off their products well in advance.

I mean we actually don't know exactly how long Scream Factory has had this new deal with Warner.

They could have made the deal a while back and the reason for the super slow period of releases this year was that they were working on these Warner big titles that they could potential announce fairly soon.

They could have been working on a Nightmare on Elm Street set as soon as they made the deal if Warner allowed them to for all we know.

I sort of figured they would do this to avoid leaks like in previous years.

So the steelbook release of The Howling contains a brand new interview with Dee Wallace, what are the chances that this was filmed at the same time as her interview for Critters ?
