I'm happy to read that the Blu is so good. I already own this on DVD, but I pre-ordered the Blu as soon as Amazon had it listed!

Seen the Cure 10 times, own every studio released album and single, tons of imports, VHS, DVDs, shirts, just tons of merch in general.

I agree with the review too, Trilogy is one of, if not the, best concert ever performed. Most of the music I listen to will never come to Blu, but I am very happy to have this on the way.

Great review, has me even more excited than I already was!!

I bought the DVD on release day and have almost worn it out.

The blu will be a release day purchase without a doubt.

Pornography is one of those goth/punk masterpieces of all time.

That is the review I was hoping for; excellent news! I can't wait to hear The Cure in all their lossless glory.

Seen the Cure at The Palace in Hollywood about 8-10 years ago, with only
like 500 people, also was on the barricade for them and Duran Duran at
a kroq Inland Invasion show...

Just recently took my wife to see them in San Diego, they played 3 hours!!

I gotta get around to picking this up. Went to several Best Buys in the area and couldn't find it so I'll probably end up just ordering it from Amazon.

I trust the reviewer, it just surprises me that it is so high for it less than 1080p.

I'm sure the piece was shot in 1080i, not just encoded that way. I think the reviewers on this site have begun to separate themselves from having an idea that all Hi-def releases should adhere to an arbitrary standard and have begun to grade them based on the merits as compared to the source material. For instance, Clerks II is not a particularly great looking BD, but since it wasn't a great looking film to begin with the BD got high marks because the video was very close to the quality of the source. It's not about grading the intentions or even the outcome of the film makers.

Yes, folks it's time we got over this "issue" about 1080i. Almost all hd video cameras operate at 1080i, there are a few very new ones that do progressive. The purest way to handle this material is to put it on the disc in the same format it was shot in.

If you want your equipment to convert it to 1080p, go for it. You have lots of potential choices between player, video processor, receiver or television.

But the real issue is the quality - just watch one of these productions. Unless you're a professional, you will not see a difference. If anything, hd video has an even more you-are-there quality than film.

1080p is the presentation standard for film, 1080i for video.
