Sentai Kids - Sentai Filmworks Reboot Of ADV Kids

Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that it is launching a new label called Sentai Kids, which is focused on educational and children's content. The label's inaugural release will be Sanrio's Hello Kitty & Friends – Let's Learn Together animated series.

According to license distributor CREi Inc., Hello Kitty & Friends – Let's Learn Together has 21 seven-minute episodes. Sentai Kids describes it as series where "Hello Kitty, her sister Mimi and all new friends help children and families learn about the world around them, from experimenting with shapes and learning to take care of flowers, to studying dance and practicing good manners."

The series will be available on home video and digitally in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Sentai Kids is Sentai Filmworks' first label aimed at children. Sentai Filmworks' predecessor ADV Films had an ADV Kids label, though it published only non-anime titles. ADV Films released earlier Hello Kitty anime and other children's titles under its main label.

Let’s not forget the original Violence Jack OVA, the original Berserk anime, and X: The Movie (which unironically needs a Blu release because it’s one of the more underappreciated visual anime films).

Anime of any sort is not exactly cheap so if parents are flipping a coin betwixt this and a "Dora The Explorer" vid for $7.99, guess where the purchase money goes.

It also will depend on if you can buy it in stores unlike their other titles. The average person wouldn’t know about these titles if they stick to just the usual buying online. Kids titles need a release in places like Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Target where kids and their parents can see it in person.

The series is being split into two DVD collections, retailing at $14.98 ($9.99 on Sentai's store, and will likely have a similar discount at Walmart/Target). And they're dual-audio.

I just want Sentai to poop out some more Kaiju/Toku films on Blu-Ray. Every film that Media Blasters had the rights to release should go to them, since MB can't be bothered to keep their titles available.

Don’t think they will do a 200+ episode Magical Girl series unless they only get the 4Kids episodes. But I would love to get it. Tokyo Mew Mew would probably be easier at 52 episodes but with likely a re-dub. There’s also the Glitter Force which should be even easier.

Sentai Filmworks announced the English cast for the Hello Kitty & Friends – Let's Learn Together animated series on Monday, and began streaming a preview clip.

The cast includes:

Juliet Simmons as Kitty
Sasha Paysinger as Amy
Luci Christian as Eric
Chaney Moore as Harry
Jenni Strader as Ms. Celine
Meg McDonald as Mimmy
Skyler Sinclair as Mama Mary
John Gremillion as Daddy Fred
Eric Chase as Papa George

Kyle Jones is directing the dub. Other cast members include Monica Rial, Wesley Whitson, Kira Vincent-Davis, Shannon Emerick, Holly Segarra, John Swasey, Savannah Menzel, Joanne Bonasso, Kalin Coates, Hilary Haag, and Brittney Karbowski.

Sentai Filmworks will release the series in two DVD sets on November as the first title in its new "Sentai Kids" imprint. The first set has the first 10 episodes, while the second collection has the final 11 episodes. The episodes are seven minutes long. Sentai Filmworks also previously announced plans to release the series digitally in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Liberty Animation Studio produced the animation. Hyoue Ishida and Yutaka Satō directed the anime, and Midori Sato wrote the scripts. Jun Harada was the sound director and Akari Kojima designed the characters.
