It's alright, not the greatest. I think DishNetwork is better, I plain to get them when I move. Turbo HD.
PS: I don't have cable in my room. But we have HD TV with DVR in the living room. It comes from the box into the HDTV by component. The TV is an Toshiba 65" 1080P DLP. The audio goes into an old Yamaha receiver. I may be able to take some pics tomorrow of some shows in HD if interested. |

I use DirecTv HD they just added Comedy Central HD 48hrs ago.
With Comcast if I was just 1 or 2 days late with the bill they would cut me off without any warning. I do not know about Dish. but DirecTv is the coolest IMHO. and DirecTv is also starting to change to 1080p. |

Every day it kills me that it took 3 installers for them to tell me the trees were too tall and now I can't get it. Ugh. I keep looking at the website and seeing all that they offer and I wanna cry. Or yell. And now if they are moving to 1080p, it's even worse.

Comcast has one thing over the Sat services... Channel 1
Hundreds of HD programs/shows that will start at the push of a button. No waiting for 8:00 tonight, go to Channel 1, select the program you want and it will start right now. Decisions decisions. |

Leave Comcast alone, they suck and their HD channels suck. I'd go with Verizon. Verizon is much cheaper and a better bang for you buck. I live in Philly and only get 37 HD Channels. That's some shit and this is Comcast's home, plus prices are too high!

Fios is internet and TV in select areas...I've been waiting for Verizon to wire my development for Fios for years now. Hasn't happened yet and I don't think it will happen in the immediate future - town houses must be too low rent for them to supply with their service (the population density is better here though and 100 potential customers is better than 30-40 living in single family houses in the same area of land).
As far as Comcast...they are so horribly compressed in my area (legacy old bandwidth) that even the HD is pixelated. Good luck trying to watch something with a scene that has anything to do with sun drenched rippling water...all I see are funky rectangles. Stick with one of the dish providers - when they need more capacity, they launch a satellite. When comcast needs more capacity, they compress the hell out of everything! |

Dish used to require you to use two dishes, one pointed to the east and one to the south...don't know if that is still required or not but the angles looked steep and seemed to be more prone to interference over a wider area compared to DirecTV which has a few satellites spread out but one dish pointed to the south seems to get all the signals. I had a few issues when I had Directv with rain fade (during strong t-storms or heavy snow fall) but overall, service was very acceptable and outages rarely lasted too long... |

When it is raining all I have is a blue screen, cause it will lose it signal. But it is never more than an 30 min. |
