Exactly! Actually I just finished watching the 60's series on bluray and there is an episode with Mr Freeze that is the exact same plot as Batman and Robin where he uses a diamond and the observatory to freeze the city. So they clearly were going down the path of 60's Batman. I love Burtons Batmans. I love aspects of Nolans Batmans. I can't tolerate one second of Batman Forever though. Jim and Tommy were terrible and the whole thing was a bore.

Batman and Robin was cheesy over the top comic book wink wink fun with great art direction and a wealth of Arnold lines.

Clooney s Bruce is so unnecessarily brusque early on towards Grayson, lol. There's that line when he's admonishing him for being wreckless, and he emphasises, "DICK" in order to really hit home what he thinks of his behaviour, lmao.

Should it be released on UHD (along with the previous three ofcourse), I'm willing to give it another chance.

Completely agreed on Predator 2. I actually think it's even better than the first. A very bold and brutal action film that would never get made today. Also, as much as I love Arnold in the first one I find Danny Glover's character in Predator 2 a much more engaging hero. His performance is fantastic. I can't say the same about Predators though unfortunately. I hated it.

I prefer "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" over "The Wrath of Khan" (TMP is my 4. favorite Trek film after "The Undiscovered Country", ST 2009 and "First Contact" and WoK my 5th favorite).

I prefer all 3 Hobbit films (Extended) over "Return of the King" (EE).

I LOVE "Alien³" (Special Edition) and "Prometheus" and think they are as great as the first "Alien" and I prefer them over "Aliens".

I prefer "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" over "Temple of Doom" (but Last Crusade is my favorite and Raiders is also clearly above Kingdom and Temple)

Totally agree. Especially on Danny. The first is great but there is just a touch too much of that silly arrogant testosterone up on the screen. The second one just gets down to business right from the opening gun fight. Love the King Willy stuff. My only tiny tiny gripe is that the close up anamatronic shots of the Predator speaking towards the end are not executed well.

Oh god so much to agree with and disagree with. The Motion Picture is way better than Khan and is pure Trek wonder to me. Especially the twist with Vger at the end.

All Hobbit movies are an exercise in painful endurance. But Return Of The King did have pretty big problems as well and didn’t deserve the award.

But you lost me on Indy. I LOVE Temple and it’s my fave. Crusade is paint by numbers BORING and whilst Crystal has a myriad of problems I dug the 50’s B movie vibe.

Alien 3 is HIGHLY underrated - ESPECIALLY the alternate cut - however the final act is silly and the chase through the tunnels a little boring. Prometheus is a pile of dog poo that looks pretty. Aliens blew my mind in the cinema as a 12 year old but I find it now just simply too long.

B&R on standard Blu-ray is gorgeous on a big TV. It really pops.

Clooney's views on B&R (the B&R part starts at about 1:35, but the whole thing's worth watching; Oh and there's a tiny part after the clip ends that's NSFW for language):

Maybe a bit bizarre but I can relate. I had a similar situation regarding Jess Franco. I had several of his movies on DVD knowing full well that most of his work is less than stellar or complete crap. I've restrained myself and only upgraded She Killed in Ecstasy and Vampyros Lesbos to blu-ray. I might be more inclined to pay for dinner for someone who dislikes Franco.

Mute (2018) on Netflix is an amazing film that people will come to grips with in time.

Yes to both of those; Even with her small role in Heat.

Has anyone ever seen her in Eye of the Beholder, with Ewan McGregor? Different but I really liked the story.

Loved her in Someone Like You, so don't judge, Logan (Hugh Jackman) was in it too + I'm a fan of Greg Kinnear & Marisa Tomei.

USA Bruceman

I loved Val Kilmer in Batman Forever because it was the first time I saw Batman act like Bruce Wayne, if that makes any sense.
And, I'm a big Val Kilmer fan.

Ha! Went down the Franco road on DVD (they just kept coming... wait, that sounds like a Franco flick from the '80s). It was an admittedly costly hunt. I only upgraded SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY, JACK THE RIPPER (used, cheap German import on Ebay) and JUSTINE (a breathtaking transfer of one of my favorites). Also grabbed the Mondo Macabro triple feature set for half the price, which was an odd, THC-fueled impulse.

The man had quite a run of good movies, some of them great (about a dozen out of the 200+ he directed). He might be the only filmmaker in history who could make me care about what happens in, say, CECILIA. Even when the movies are mediocre (or worse, which is often the case) I find myself drawn to his sloppy - yet somehow elegant - aesthetic.
