I'm looking forward to watching this. I'm hearing great things and judging by trailers alone I think I'm going to love this movie.
While Chi-Raq wasn't peak, high quality Spike Lee, I did still enjoy it. And I really enjoyed Da Sweet Blood of Jesus and Red Hook Summer (give credit to that film for literally changing it up halfway through). But back to BlacKkKlansman, this looks solid. Even if John David Washington sounds exactly like his father, which is like "whoa...whoa..." at first haha. |

Just saw this one. Absolutely shocked. The movie was fantastic, and the ending was like a punch to the gut that the world needs right now. Really tastefully done. I will definitely pre-order this one on 4K. It would be cool if it got some kind of SteelBook, given the sheer amount of talent behind it. I mean, a Blumhouse film that was co-produced by Legendary Pictures, Jordan Peele, AND directed by Spike Lee? Come on! It's a no-brainer. If Jason Blum and Legendary made this, a movie that is pretty much out of both of their wheelhouses, you know the script has to be something truly spectacular or important. I really don't want to oversell this movie because it's sort of disturbing and not very subtle, but I really do think it is that good. Can't wait to have it on my shelf.

Saw it this afternoon after much anticipation and it sure didnt disappoint!
Up there with Spike Lee's best for sure and quite a few people in my audience were very moved by it, two women I saw crying and one of them was sobbing quite audibly. Unfortunately I also had some racist piece of trash mutter something nasty during the opening few minutes of the movie when Ron is being interviewed for the job. Couldn't see who it was that said it which was too bad because I really wanted to give them serious shit. |

I’m not a fan of Spike Lee, but the trailer got my interest to the theater and I thought it was terrific. A bit bloated time wise (could have used a 20 minute trim) but I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be picking up the 4K.

I just went to buy tickets for tomorrow but sadly my local theater is showing The Meg in Dolby Cinema. Pretty bummed since I was excited to see this and I think I’m gonna pass on The Meg. Hopefully someone else can see it and report back.

My comment was deleted for some reason. So I will just reiterate that this movie is both fun and powerful; highly recommended. If you're lucky enough to live near a Dolby Cinema playing it, you should see it there. Mine aren't, so I look forward to the UBD.
And here are two articles with the cinematographer: https://www.panavision.com/chayse-ir...blackkklansman https://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/b...tid=4295007586 |
