I agree. My UHD/4K disc count would be less if the BD version had immersive audio (Dolby Atmos/DTS:X) included.

I don't think I have visited your profile recently. Have you made an interesting change to it?

Isn't the whole point of having a public profile so that the public may view it?

I am not going to comment about the size of one's movie collection and what it may mean; men in particular are just too obsessed with the size of things already.

In most cases the mobile device just passes the IP address on to the display device (just another form of Chromecast)

Even if Amazon or Netflix wanted to keep people from watching these shorts on a TV, how would they stop them?
Streaming services know what device(s) you are using for viewing so in theory they could limit streaming to any device they want. For example, Netflix only allows Dolby Atmos on a very few devices, not sure if anyone knows why.

FWIW, on VUDU, Amazon and Netflix I can go to each site and see all my registered devices. IIRC, they show the brand and model number. At one time I had 3 LG BP540 BD players and out of the blue Amazon removed their app from that model number. They did let me know ahead of time they were going to do this, no explanation was given. Two of the players was used primarily for Amazon video, the third was BD playback and Amazon, all three were rendered useless for my use and now reside in boxes.

Click here and you should see your browser, OS, screen res, etc. Click here for more similar info. Used to know how to trace route to Netflix but forgot. Posted links just to show providers know a lot about their customers. Amazon (Dot) and Google (Mini) claim they are not listening to me unless I use the wake words, funny, I do not trust them. If unplug them, then I feel fairly certain they are not listening to me .

Those same apps work on TVs and Computers, so nah. They aren't this stupid. Octagon already pointed out it takes 2 seconds to tether right to your TV or whatever device you need to.

It stated that the service will be designed from the ground up for mobile. Also, the more these things pop up, the more it trains generation Z and millennials to not want to return to the bigger screen. It’s learned behaviour surely. Just like Netflix now, the industry will go where the money is, if this turns out to be a big hit, well..... you know the rest.

In the same way TV and Movies trained kids not to read books and all book publishing shut down?

Or the way TV killed movies back in the 50s by training people to 'not want to return to the bigger screen'.

I don't care if anyone does. I rarely visit anyones profile I just had noticed you Wendell and Steedeel all listed right in a row as 3 of my last 10 visitors.

And then was astonished that someone like stee talks more about physical media at the highest quality than seemingly actually purchasing it.

My last 10 visitors have not changed any in a long time. I guess I'm just not that interesting.

You have a pretty substantial disc collection for someone who likes digital so much, but then I suspect that many people have a mixture of both.

Is your reading comprehension ok? I already explained to you in a previous post. Also, I have a projector, tv and player to consider, so it was hardly a snap decision. I am patient with my Blu-ray purchases, so why would I be anything else with 4K? Don’t get excited, the 4K discs are coming.

If you don’t care, why bring it up?

Oh and you are listed as one of my visitors also?

Look at how kids and teenagers communicate now, the English language is s afterthought these days, everything is text talk and social media slang.

Somehow I doubt that. I for one, enjoy reading your post.

It would be interesting to see how folks would post if they were not allowed to post anonymously. IIRC, in the days of CompuServe we had to list our real names. You were allowed to use a handle name in your post.

So I have been using my real name since the days of private BBS's and CompuServe.

Just look at gaming for an example of how it could go. Kids have access to large tv screens but mobile gaming is making the most money. Plus, I understand AAA gaming on phones has exploded over the past year. So much so, that dedicated gaming phones are now a thing. It is expected to be a huge market.
Why oh why would young people want to play mobile with awkward touch controls? Bests me, but logic doesn’t seem to fit with what young people do tech wise.

The issue isn't the profile viewing as i said i don't care.

The issue is your rants about physical media and only having 4 uhd discs. December be damned its ironic. Me seeing you visit my page and being curious and clicking yours led to this discovery.

I'm labeled a digital lover in this thread and have 6x that and i have a modest collection for this forums standards

It’s just the way I work. I dive in when I am fully prepared. It’s not cheap to get a Projector/screen and a 4K tv along with a player. I am set up now, the goods will follow. Seriously, don’t let it worry you.

I used this very thing the other night when I wanted to watch something on our Airbnb’s old flatscreen. Haven’t used it in ages, but it’s come in handy when I’ve had the opportunity to watch something.
