Avengers & Avengers Age Of Ultron 4K Steelbooks (Best Buy Exclusive)

The two BB's near me only had one copy each of Age of Ultron and each one had a pretty bad spine slash on it, hoping they restock so I can complete the collection. If anybody here has them stock nearby I'm willing pay for one ;-)

Does anyone know how the Digital Codes work for the 4k copies if you already have the 1080s in your account? Will it just add the 4k version?

My store had a lot of these left. I don't think people in my area are wanting to pay this much for a 4k catalogue steelbook at $34 a pop, me included. Infinity War steels were all gone though.

Same as my Best Buy. It has at least 3 of each copies left when I was there about 15 minutes ago. Infinity War steelbooks are completely gone.

I've been to 3 BB stores today & none had them. I'm hoping they get put up for shipping again.

Do we know if this is one of those movies that if you redeem in MoviesAnywhere, you end up with the 4K version in both Vudu and iTunes? I'm happy to have it either way, but if I can end up with the digital copy on both... I don't have to choose a single one to redeem under.

So I ended up being able to preorder both and get them and they both have the slash. It's so small though and barely noticeable that I'm keeping them. I can live with it.

I redeemed all 3 of these in Movies Anywhere and it converted my existing Avengers HD version to 4k, and added the other two movies in 4k.

My VUDU account is linked to Movies Anywhere and they're showing up as 4k for all 3 movies in VUDU.

I'm not in front of my 4k Apple TV to check, but the movies do show up in my iTunes account on my phone. It just says "HD" though, but it might be because my iPhone doesn't handle 4k.

So they definitely port over as long as you've linked those accounts to your Movies Anywhere account.

I picked up all 3 Avengers steelbooks yesterday after dinner. 2 out of 3 had spine slashes. Avengers 1 was the only one not cut. All under the shrink wrap.

WTF is wrong with Scanovo or somewhere after the discs are placed in the cases that they shite on so many of these products?

This is supposed to be a premium product. I don't hear about spine slashes on the Digibooks/Digipaks that Target sells.
What gives with Scanovo?

EDIT: ps. My store doesn’t have an Avengers steelbook (any of the 3) left in sight.
They were all gone on Tuesday.

I had the same issue, they had to switch out Infinity Wars & Age of Ultron. I saw a ton of spine slashes!!!!

Same here, procrastinated on ordering the steelbooks when I had the chance, maybe I will just get the standard 4K versions but then having them in the more expensive steelbook form still seems more enticing.

It can happen at any point, like when a Best Buy Blue Shirt opens up a carton of product with a pair of scissors or box cutter or earlier when the factory employee is opening up a carton of empty steelbooks before putting discs in them.

But to answer your question about why digipaks don’t have the same issue, it’s likely because the cartons that those come in from the printers, they aren’t packed with spines facing up, whereas empty steelbooks are still heavy so they’re packed similar to finished product with spines facing up and are prone to a worker accidentally slashing the spine with their box cutter.

Redeeming on MA gets you 4K on Vudu and FandangoNow, but as of now iTunes doesn't have 4K versions up of any(?) of the recent Disney titles. So while I'm confident they will eventually (and you'll have the rights when that happens), currently Avengers on iTunes is HD only on any device.
