Not sure if you follow release specific threads around but a bunch of people are reporting that they received their replacements for Lionheart and the DVD is fixed but the problem is still on the bluray. I hope it's just a mistake and they were sent the wrong disc because if the problem is still on the new bluray and you spent all that time and money to have it fixed only have some one output the wrong file again, that would be a real bummer.

Aside from that, I love every release I've grabbed from you so far and will continue to grab more as they come out. Keep up the good work!

Should have an update soon. I PERSONALLY approved the new, new check disc a week and a half ago and the corrected discs will be available soon. I'll post an update once MVD has these in hand you can send them an email to get your replacement.

As far as the existing inventory, the first time around, we did a pretty good job of isolating the inventory and catching this thing. This time around I suggest anyone waiting to buy this to just buy it now and IF you get a copy with the bad audio (on theatrical version only) disc, just email with your POP and ask for a replacement. I'm so sorry this happened and I have put new processes in place to hopefully avoid this happening again. I really appreciate everyone's patience and kind words.

Was this transfer provided by the Australian rights or MGM? I know MGM only has a really old SD 4:3 master and this looks like a new transfer from materials the rights holders had rather than MGM (if they even had any film elements)?

So here's the deal with Windrider...


When the release was originally planned, it was to be a joint effeort between MVD and Umbrella for North America. We announced the title and MGM notified Umbrella that they were the North American rights holder for the title and Umbrella instructed us to cancel the title. HOWEVER...

I knew some of the folks there and gave them a call and asked them if we could licence the title from them (which opened the door for us to pick up a few others, many of which are in the MVD Marquee Collection as well as the upcoming "Rewind" title, "Bright Lights, Big City"). They agreed and we did a deal, BUT... MGM had no master for the film other than the old Beta SP that they used for the 1980's VHS release. Umbrella, on the other hand, DID have an HD master so we worked a deal out (by the way, the team at Umbrella is AWESOME... great people) that Umbrella would allow MVD to use thier HD master for our MGM licened Rewind release.

To answer your question... The master that they provided does not open with the logo of the original Australian distributors, it has the Lion and the UA logo that plays before the movie rolls.

I hope you guys pick this up. It's a fun movie with one of my favorite covers / artwork that we've done. Thanks!

When Windrider first became available for pre-order, I'm almost positive I remember seeing that an extended bedroom scene was listed among the extras. However, when I received my copy, this was not listed among the extras on the back of the case. I also didn't see it anywhere on the disc menu. You are right... MGM had requested us to either get permission from Nicole Kidman or remove the "extended bedroom scene". Getting permission would have been a lot of work. They likely would have said no anyway and the footage is maybe a minute or two at the most and really wasn't worth the effort IMO.

Rod - Thanks for the concern. It's all good. This one will just take a little longer to be profitable. Our replicator is great and have been very helpful during this process.

Windrider is a blind buy for me, but it seems like exactly the type of thing I would enjoy. Plus I am trying to support MVD and the rewind etc., lines. I am just curious as to what an extended bedroom scene could possibly include that Eyes Wide Shut did not provide?

wow this would be amazing if you did in fact get your hands on this. such an underrated comedy... Any update on Best of the Best from Sony? it seems like now that evil Disney owns all of fox we will never see Best of the Best 2 on BD here in the states.
