Mid season premiere live ratings were a new series low

"Following Fear the Walking Dead’s decision to kill off one of their most-popular characters, we were very curious to see what the ratings would be. Would the show suffer without one of its biggest characters?

Well, based on the numbers from Sunday night, it does appear that this is the case — though you could also cite natural ratings erosion as a factor. Sunday’s episode generated around 1.88 million viewers, which is the smallest viewer figure that we’ve seen for the series to date (at least in terms of live viewing). It posted a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is the second-lowest total we’ve seen for the series."

I don't know, it wasn't like Madison had that large of a role in the beginning of this season. So with her removed from the equation, can't really say that's the cause behind ratings drop.

There was a lot of outrage on Reddit but I don't think it'll be as big a deal as Andrew Lincoln.

I’m glad the flashbacks are hopefully over. Just for me, losing Madison wasn’t a huge deal. I mainly watch the show for Strand, John Dory and Morgan. Don’t really care all that much for the other characters.

I hope TWD universe expands. Would like to see a mountainous locale, like in the Rockies, or even overseas.

the new Episode was okay, not more or less, finally without the studid Flashbacks. The cliffhanger was awesome

But was Madison really such a fan favorite. I always saw Nick,Alicia and Strand of the original cast the leads and fan favorites.

Even my dad dropped the series and he followed it until the mid season premiere before I began watching it again. Both series are losing a lot of steam.

Watching the last episode again as there's nothing else on TV right now...

So, no thoughts on Morgan's 'uh, I made a mistake, and after traveling half way across the continent I'm gonna pack up and head back'...???

I'm guessing they're setting him up to leave the show at the end of the season.

Morgan and someone else will go back to TWD. Maybe the child and felicia. Im not crossing my fingers for Maggie Grace although i would love to see her in TWD.

FTWD could live if they go back to the beginning and focus on another family in LA for example. So they can cast Ian and join Sharknados with Walking Deadnados. Nobody is safe.

So they had to kill off two main Fear characters to give Morgan more time to shine? He's already had the spotlight many times... He's the first character you encounter in episode 1. He had his "crazy" Morgan arc which began in season 3 and returned for a flashback in season 6. Afterwards he became the non-killing word of reason and then lost his mind again throughout season 7 or 8, can't recall which. I feel like Morgan has more story than someone like Rick or Daryl, sheesh. Gimple should have held off for a year and made Morgan the main character in TWD now that Rick will be gone.
