I'm not a YouTube expert but it's not perfect, far from perfect.
* Would it be best to uninstall it then reinstall it? |

Had the same issue months ago with YouTube not working, it hadn't worked for quite a while, would just go to title screen and not move forward. Performed a factory reset and now it works fine. Never had issues prior to this but now have issues with certain discs not playing, such as Dunkirk wont play at all, and the second episode of PE 2 also wont play.

My player has been working great for the year I have owned it. Barely any issues. However, I watched movies all day earlier this week and the player just shut off without warning twice. Hasn't happened since, but definitely weird. Anyone know why this may have happened?

I guess that I should have clarified that my problem with YouTube was on my desktop computer after an update. I have no problem at all with using YouTube on my X800. Although today, YouTube is loading fine on my desktop, and everything working as it should ! Last edited by EManT2200; 08-17-2018 at 02:31 PM. |

Just make sure it's not stacked. And you have a dedicated external AC unit for cooling. It's hot out there. ![]() |

Hey guys, I am having issues with playing Marvel DVDs on the Sony UBP-X800 player.
First, a while ago I rented Black Panther on DVD and after the starting screen when you have to pick a language, the player freezes and becomes unresponsive, so I have to unplug and plug it again it to be able to eject the disc. Now, I've rented Avengers Infinity War and it has the exact same issue. Has anyone encountered this before? |

The player is stacked in between a PS3 on top and another Blu-ray player on the bottom. Do you suggest moving it so nothing is above and below? |

Given the ruggedized enclosure I would move it to the bottom at the very least. |

Maybe one of you cool peeps can help me with these issues I've had with this player.
The first I mentioned over two weeks ago and did not find a solution, so I tried posting in the AVS forum and no one responded to me. So, just for the sake of it, I'll try once more here. There was this burned in text on two shots in the opening credits of Isle of Dogs. After the text appears in full color, it lingers grayed out until the next cut. I only see it when I play the movie on my X800 (on both the BD and DVD), but not on my computer or PS4. I was watching it on an OLED. Images in spoilers [Show spoiler] [Show spoiler] The second issue was some static noise in some of the dark scenes of Black Panther (regular BD). For instance, the camera would pan, but the noise would obviously stay frozen in place. I know the digital cinematography is not a friend to dark scenes with the movie in general, but these instances of static noise struck me as an issue between the disc, player, and tv. |

For about a year or so with this player has been rock solid. Running the latest firmware updates, but for whatever reason for the last few months the player will freeze up with pretty much any 4K disc I watch at least once during the movie. Regular blu-rays have no issues at all. watched the first Avengers last night 4K and sure enough chapter 10 freeze.
all remote functions will not work. had to unplug and restart movie. Seriously think its time to be looking at another player. My patience has run out. I only use the player for watching discs. all my streaming is with Roku premier plus, so I can't comment on those issues. |

Having an issue with my player, was curious if anyone might have some insight. Up front, I've already tried all the troubleshooting Sony suggests trying.
I was toying with video settings yesterday and made a mistake. First off, I do not have a 4k TV yet. I changed the output from "automatic" or whatever the default setting was, to "4k." This was a mistake now, because it seems I cannot change it back. Ever since, when the player boots up, instead of going to the home menu screen, the screen simply remains black. There is no way to access the home menu where all the apps and what-not are. Only buttons on the remote that have any effect are the power on/off button and the open/close button. Pressing "home" on the remote does nothing. When you put a disc in, the disc will load and play. Trying to access the "home menu" while a disc is playing only returns you to a black screen. While the black screen displays the TV reads, "Unsupported signal. Please check the device output." I've tried the player on all the TV's in the house, all Sony TV's, but none are 4k. It seems there is no way to reboot the player back to factory settings. The only thing that might work that I could think of is hooking it up to a 4k TV and changing the setting back, but I do not have a 4k TV. If anyone might have some other insight into how I could fix this, I would appreciate it. I do not have the receipt for the player anymore so there is no way Sony will cover a repair under warranty. To make matters somewhat worse, the number for a repair place close to me that Sony gave me is a disconnected number. I would hate to have to send the player somewhere, pay a pretty penny, when really all I may have had to do was hook it up to a 4k TV and change the settings back. |
