Yeah I agree. And they are doing it all again:

Among Samsung’s notable HDR10+ partnerships, TP Vision, which oversees Philips TV development, manufacturing and marketing, will introduce HDR10+ to its entire lineup of 4K TVs next year, and V-Silicon (formerly Sigma Designs) will show a demo of HDR10+ in its private booth at IFA 2018.
Still the same. PRIVATE Demos only for TWO FULL YEARS. DO NOT LET EVER THE PUBLIC HAVE A DEMO THEY CAN DOWNLOAD, THAT WOULD BE A DISASTER!

Sorry if it seems as if I'm shouting: that's because I am!

private booth, rofl, at this stage of the game? you gotta be f*cking kidding me.

private demos are what you do for alpha/beta products with tons of issues that you're ok with showing privately to an educated group of people that will understand, but jesus, not for a product that's "supposedly" been done for well over a year LOL.

Um, there's so few any and all of their partnerships are "notable".

Got to love the marketing-speak.

I think they are still having issues with scene transition. Dolby wasn't ready in two years, I don't know what made Samsung think they could have HDR10+ ready in two.

They are sending out mixed signals then. On the one hand they're still only showing private demonstrations which could signify that it's not ready, on the other hand they are claiming that HDR10+ content will be released within the next few months.

If (big if) HDR10+ content really is on the way soon, then surely they could provide some demos for the public to try out on their TVs.

Dolby Vision is a good format for enhancing HDR10, but we need to give HDR10+ a chance to mature. Before providers of video will produce HDR10+ material there needs to be a sufficient number of HDR10+ sets. Competition is good. The next year or two will show if HDR10+ is successful.

Going forward, something else to keep in mind is that there is really no technical reason why the Dolby Vision playback libraries couldn't support HDR10+.

No guesses?
Well, for one, how ‘bout carrier air wing Seven (out of Virginia), for sure (filming now)

And for you California folks hoping to lay some claim to the action, that ^ doesn’t necessarily mean there’s not a chance for some squadron from NAS Lemoore (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naval_Air_Station_Lemoore) to play a small role too.

Most 4K users are not even aware of what Dolby Vision is. Most sets advertise HDR. So if the consumer sees HDR on 4K content they are happy. Readers of Blu-ray.com have a much higher interest and knowledge of 4K, Blu-ray, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision that than the average purchaser of 4K TVs.

With Dolby Cinema(DV) being a part of theatrical film advertisement billboards, and trailers. LG adverts say with Dolby Vision, Vizio the same. The market is on a path that leads to DV being the market premium rep for HDR. Sony will join when their 2019 models release(930f, 940f).

@Penton-Man Is my understanding correct, HDR10+ will still rely on each manufacturer own dynamic tone mapping algorithm, or has SMPTE set a standard for dynamic metadata plus dynamic tone mapping?

Despite being of paramount importance in this day and age, similar to how most people are unaware of whose (excerpted) bio this is: (although, I figure you've got a good idea)

After waiting a year so a knee injury could heal, he was accepted for officer training in the United States Marine Corps in 1968, attending training at Parris Island, Officer Candidate School, Army Ranger School, and Army jump school. Of all these, he said later that he considered Ranger School the most valuable. "[It] more than anything teaches you about how you react with no sleep and nothing to eat.”

In July 1968, he was sent to South Vietnam, where he served as a rifle platoon leader with Second Platoon, H Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On December 11, 1968, during an engagement in Operation Scotland II, he earned the Bronze Star with "V" distinction for combat valor for rescuing a wounded Marine under enemy fire during an ambush in which he saw half of his platoon become casualties. In April 1969, he received an enemy gunshot wound in the thigh, recovered, and returned to lead his platoon until June 1969. For his service in and during the Vietnam War, his military decorations and awards include: the Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V", Purple Heart Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals with Combat "V", Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three service stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Parachutist Badge.

After his military service, he enrolled at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the Virginia Law Review and graduated in 1973. Government service milestones include, but are hardly limited to….

In 1989, he served in the United States Department of Justice as an assistant to Attorney General Dick Thornburgh and as acting deputy Attorney General. James Baker, with whom he worked on national security matters, said he had "...an appreciation for the Constitution and the rule of law." The following year he took charge of its criminal division. During his tenure, he oversaw prosecutions including that of Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega, the Pan Am Flight 103 (Lockerbie bombing) case, and of the Gambino crime family boss John Gotti. In 1991, he was elected a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
