The release has the standalone UHD disc, then one BD50 disc with the 1080p movie and all the bonus materials.

No, the 4K release is the UHD and the same two BDs included in the original Sapphire Series release.

Nope. It's a three disc set.

There's a reason why I said here as in Norway where I live, not the US nor the UK. Here's the links if you want to see it for yourself.

As a matter of fact I bought the US edition for just this reason, as even with shipping included it saved me money and includes all three discs. I don't find it prudent to spend more money for less if I can avoid it.

AFAIK, all Paramount 4K UHDs whose original BD releases had two BDs (movie + extras) are three disc releases. I have Transformers 1 and 3, Star Trek 1 and 2, Gladiator, SPR, and Forest Gump - all are three disc releases.

If I buy a movie on UHD BD I don't need a plain 1080p BD which only increases its price.
I was very happy when I opened the US season 1 of Game Of Thrones on UHD and this is what I found, UHD BD discs, no BD's.

I would pay a flat-rate 15$ to get "barebones" 4K releases. Just one disc in the case ... Wish they had an option for this after a couple months out in the wild.

I don't want the DC. I don't want the BD(s). I don't want supplements. I don't wanna wait 1yr+ or for deals to barely afford many a sought after title.

I don't have a 4K player yet so I buy them to avoid rebuying in the future, but can only watch the BD for now... but I wouldn't get a 4K only set probably, unless those players get dirt cheap like the normal BD players are. If my 4K player were to stop working, I wouldn't be able to just go buy a new one right away and you can't always rely on decent internet to stream any digital copies (which I usually sell mine anyway, only ones I have came from InstaWatch or if it's something other people might watch then I'd redeem it) so I would always want a BD just in case.

If it's a catalog title with just 4K it might not be such a big deal because I'd probably already have the BD release... but if it had BD with it too, I'd try and sell off my BD-only release.

Saw Sanyo 4K/HDR players under $100 in Walmart the other day, they are getting cheaper.

If it's not 50 or below, I couldn't just run out and get a replacement lol
