It's obvious now that they are preparing an IMAX version double dip, to release in some months or possibly simply alongside Pt. II next August.

Fingers crossed because they've never done anything like that for the MCU in the past. But I don't mind triple-dipping because I usually double-dip anyway (3D and 4k), so what's one more copy?

I could see them doing a LOTR scenario and release an Extended Cut just before part 2.

I would go for both 3D and 4K. Again.

My 3d edition arrived from zoom.

....just gutted yet again Disney didn't supply their sole UK online store with enough slipcovers
....just like they messed up with agents of shield digipack

...oh well I hope my 4k arrives with 1...

Received blu ray today from zoom. Definitely wasn't expecting it. Considering solo is getting a 2 disc set, this blu ray seems like a lazy disc for such a huge film. Lovely slip though.

Amazon UK have been terrible with Disney slips over the last 6 months or so, so I'm completely avoiding them for this one.

I've just moved over to the UK, so I'm wondering where is best to order the 3D and hopefully get a slip?
Where are people receiving their slips / where are people not getting slips?

HMV? Zoom? Zavvi?

Or will it be better just to go into store?

Avoid Zoom if you want guaranteed slips although they tend to be the cheapest with the permanent SIGNUP10 discount code

HMV are good for slips. Sign up for their Pure card and you get points which build up for in store vouchers, plus I think daily at the moment they are offering certain 4K releases instore for £9.99 with the Pure card

I don't think they had any doubt this would shift an awful lot of units though, whereas the relatively disappointing showing for Solo probably makes them want to give it bells and whistles to tempt people in who couldn't be bothered to see it in cinemas.

Very good point - they probably need to entice more people to buy Solo.

There’s also the fact that, even though they’re both technically Disney films, the individual studios handle the authoring of their own features and discs.
Lucasfilm does the Star Wars disc’s, Marvel do the Marvel discs, Pixar does theirs, Disney does theirs.
That’s why there’s always discrepancies between features / cover art / disc art / whether there’s a 3D release or not between studios.

Star Wars have always traditionally been 2-disc sets, all of the Disney-era Blus have been and the previous Fox DVDs and Blus too.
Marvel have traditionally been single-disc releases. The last 2-disc Marvel release was Iron Man 2, from memory. Back when Paramount still had distribution on the Marvel films.
