Taiwan Monkey King 3-D (2014) [Taiwan release] shipped by YESASIA.COM

Should have learned my lesson long ago when Detective Dee went OOP.

It'll be a long time before I get around to watching them but I've rarely been disappointed when it comes to Asian 3D films, they tend to do much better in handling 3D than Hollywood.
I placed an order with yesasia.com for Monkey King 3-D (2014) a couple weeks ago. It finally came back in stock and shipped out today. I paid more than I wanted to, around $40, but saved a couple shekels by using the code NEWTWITTER2 ($2 off). It's the Taiwan version. According to the specs, it seems the Hong Kong versions are 2.35:1 ratio and the Taiwan releases are 1.78:1. Can someone verify?

As a Stephen Chow fan, I found Mermaid disappointing, but my wife loved it. I'd trade it for a copy of Young Detective Dee 3-D (2013) in a New York minute.

Considering I have an alert on eBay when new listings pop up and didn't even get notified about it, guess I'm kind of upset someone beat me to it too

Looks like I need to add some more search perimeters if the current ones aren't working.

Hi Delta,

I didn't get one either and had it specifically for that title. What I do is search eBay each day by newest listed so that's when I came across it.

No hard feelings?

Perseverance pays off, even if expensively. Probably those emails are not sent out instantly

Quite fortunate too. One had been watching it on eBay so surprised he or she didn't grab it first.

Good for you. Can I ask that you put up the link for the blu-ray here, even if it is no longer available because you bought it?
Thank you

Hi Fatboy,

And at the same time, would be appreciated if yes Asia would provide a description.

I just watched it tonight for the first time and I agree with you. The 3D in Sword Master is very strong, almost too strong at times. Also benefiting this film is a simple story that’s very well done. Sometimes I find Asian films to be so bat$hit weird or historically convoluted that it’s hard to figure out what’s going on haha. Not so with this movie, maybe because it’s based on the excellent Shaw’s Brothers film Death Duel, but I actually enjoyed following the characters.

I’m working my way through several Asian 3D films that I imported recently and this one is at the top so far. This is definitely one to revisit.

I recently picked this up on eBay for about $16.50 shipped, which was the best deal I'd seen on it. I'm looking forward to checking it out after hearing so many good things.

You won't be disappointed with the fantastic 3D in Sword Master, especially being natively shot in 3D with 3D cameras.
