Wait, Castle's only in one scene? I thought we were being told it was almost 50-50?

No, that’s what people assumed and chose to believe.

In the original movie Myers doesn't kill that many people and the ones he does are sexually-active teenagers.

So why does the trailer give the impression he's slaughtering just anyone and everyone? I hope they explain this change of character.

No, it’s not 50-50. That’s something people made up.

He tried to kill Laurie and she wasn’t sexually active. I don’t think he really cares about the sexual habits of his victims. In the original it seems that his main target was Laurie and he decided to play around with her by killing her friends and then luring her to the house so she can see his artwork before killing her as well.

Haha! Too true!

I've got no love at all for H20. I've trashed it quite a bit over on the thread for the Halloween Complete Collection.

Also, just to clarify, I'm not looking any less forward to the movie because of the nods to the retconned sequels. I was just questioning the logic behind it. Like I said, they are cool little nods to the sequels.

The 2nd trailer was really good but I think it showed a little too much, but then again, that's what the people seem to want nowadays, to see as many spoilers as possible.

The trailer looks good, for the most part. It's going to be a good film. But what's even more exciting is that it's going to be huge, which will hopefully be enough to get Jason and Freddy back up and running, as well as further Halloween sequels. If it was up to me we'd have one of these with one of the classic killers in theaters every October. Could this be a new resurgence for the genre? I hope it is...

The new trailer looks better than the other trailers IMO and has peaked my interest in the film more. Also glad to see Will Patton is in it. He's great in the fantastic and criminally underrated Copycat (the greatest serial killer film ever made as well as one of the greatest films ever made in general IMHO).

Hey, we don't know that guy's backstory. He might have been some kind of sexual tyrannosaurus or something.

Trailer looks like a movie made for the fans. It will likely do well with the built in fans but probably won't make many new ones.

I have to say that for a sequel that is intended to ignore everything past the original it seems to be paying a lot of homage to 1981's Halloween 2. The first minute of the new trailer looks like a remake of the beginning of part 2. It's blatantly obvious to me atleast. Not sure if McBride or Carpenter have stated that they intended on doing homages to any of the sequels.

I thought Copycat had an incredibly interesting concept (copying some of the more famous murderers crimes) but wasn't very well executed. The actor they chose for the killer was terrible. Harry Connick Jr was great in his role and Sigourney Weaver was very good as usual but the movie didn't work for me and my God is it dated now. It's such a quintessentially 90s movie, I felt like I should pop on Clueless afterwards to carry on with the mid 90s theme.

I'd love to see another attempt at the concept of Copycat because it has so much potential if done right.

I concur. This is exactly the kind of film that needs a remake.
