It's an interesting contract, but far loaded in the last 5 years of the contract.

But there's no language preventing him from still getting the $75M loaded into the back-end of those years, right? Coach contracts are all still guaranteed money AFAIK.

I always figured Gruden would never return to coaching so he could preserve that legacy of being a coaching genius based on this ridiculously small sample size and a confluence of events that'll probably never happen again. But $100M is $100M.

Not sure, but this is also very interesting:

I dunno, I more think of the AFC as the passing side of the league for the most part (with the exception being the AFCN) although that is based solely on the old school train of thought from back in the 80's.

I'm not playing Jacksonville's defense against Shady, figure the Jets defense against the hapless Dolphins is a much better bet.
