London’s become a small town for a handful of jaded psychedelic-era hipsters. But Johnny Alucard has a groovy new way for his pals to get their kicks. A certain ritual will be the living end, he insists. And if you still wonder where Johnny’s coming from, try spelling his last name backwards.

Dracula is raised into the modern era in this Hammer Studios shocker that’s “quite well done” (John Stanley, Creature Features). Christopher Lee dons the cape for the sixth time and seeks out fresh victims. As archnemesis Van Helsing, fellow horror legend Peter Cushing clutches a vial of holy water and edges within throwing distance. Their harrowing battle royale is not to be missed. In fact, it’s the living end.

YES! I know this movie has a lot of haters but I don't care. This is actually one of my most favorite Hammer films. I just dig everything about it.

The fact that "quite well done" is the best critical comment that they could find about sums it up

I'm sure this release will be great in the video department, but I'm going to have to see how this stacks up against the Anolis before getting one of them. Then again, this isn't my favorite movie so I'm not sure if I'll want to pay the premium even if Anolis's release is greatly superior!

I really don't think this is that bad compared to some other Hammer flicks. Like, I'd watch this over Scars of Dracula or Satanic Rites any day, and that's just their Dracula movies. It's got some good 70s chicks in it, too.

The "shower scene" was pretty hilarious, probably the
[Show spoiler]lamest vampire death
I can recall.

I would've banked on this title being licensed to Scream but I'll take it any way I can get it; WAC will no doubt give us a terrific transfer, and just in time for Halloween!

there's just something special about the Christopher Lee Dracula films--- some are outstanding, some are merely good, some are not so good... but I need every single one of them in my blu ray collection!!!

Great news. At least we know Warner Archive are releasing these as suspected... now if we can only get them to release Horror of Dracula & Curse of Frankenstein.

This release poses a problem.
I've just pre-ordered the German release which is going to include bonuses such as a 45 minute documentary on the film featuring mostly unseen footage from interviews shot for The Warner Years crowd funder.
I expect the Archive edition might include a trailer. I dislike paying Anolis prices but the documentary makes it a must.

Do we know yet if the Anolis release is from the new Warner master? Because the previous German release must have utilized an older master.

Was this a film that would have been in a so-called "Hammer Volume 2 set". Safe to assume that is not in the cards now?

agree that none of them "suck" but I don't think Satanic Rites can be classified as "good".....

Yes, it would have been in vol 2 with Horror of Dracula, Curse of Frankenstein and Satanic Rites of Dracula.

I rate it higher than AD 72 which by trying so hard to make itself modern and cool has made it dated almost immediately after its initial release.
The sequence set in the past is great though

I actually enjoyed Satanic Rites quite a bit haha.

Never seen AD 1972, but heard its somewhat boring.
