Default What do you use to remove adhesive residue?

I've never had a problem with this until now. I opened up my copy of 'Crank' and the security seal left sticky residue (and, of course, it's one of those that needs seals on all three sides). Any method to remove this? I was going to try Goo Gone?

Thanks.

I have a can of sticker remover. I just spray it on the sticker, let it work in, and pull the sticker off. Any remaining residue can be easily wiped off =)

Then I'm sure it'd work on the residue, where can I get a can?

Use the same seal to stick it on the residue and pull the glue off. It works like nothing else.

Goo gone works great, I use it all the time. I suggest taking the insert out first so no oil gets on it, then use the goo gone. Put it on and let it sit for a couple minutes. Then it just wipes off. Good stuff

Sometimes using the security sticker itself will remove the residue but when that doesn't work, I've been using goo gone (I think that's what it is called). It can be a little messy but I probably used too much of it.

Edit: Nevermind. I was too slow and both of my recommendations were mentioned already.

I have no idea where you can get it in Canada, but a local hardware store should have similar stuff. I got mine from a Dutch store.

The can I got is called 'PRF Label Off'.

This works well or get packing tape and roll it around your fingers and apply to the area. It may take quite a bit of it but it works.

I had this problem the other day when I picked up SAW on Blu-ray and now it is all cleaned off.

Seconded. Goo Gone will often leave swirl marks and dull the plastic on the case. WD40 removes the adhesive just as easily and doesn't leave the case looking hazy.

WD-40 works perfectly. And you probably already have it in the house.

Lighter fluid works well, too. Been using it for years on CD cases (HATE those stickers), DVD cases, and now problem Blu-ray cases.

Salmonella tainted peanut butter. Works like a charm. Also great at removing bubble gum from hair (on your head or otherwise).
