I think you took their comment the wrong way. They need to not press so many copies that go unsold, it's a bad reflection on the franchise and then Target starts thinking "oh, we can't sell these so let's not bother doing future seasons."

Season 1 sold absolutely amazing. It was in top 10 4 weeks straight when it came out. And that it was an exclusive only to Target and be able to do that shows how popular this show is and how many want the show on Blu-Ray as well. Yeah s2 need to be a none exclusive and a regular release. Plus they need to release it overseas as well. Even the page view with this on 114 pages for one show as a release is astounding.

I wish Netflix would release all of their original shows and films on disc. Maybe this will lead the way to that? Maybe they could partner with an outside studio to do it. Shows owned by other studios like House of Cards, The Crown (both Sony) and Orange is the New Black (Lionsgate) seem to do well on Blu-ray. 13 Reasons Why (Paramount), Fuller House (Warner), and Voltron (Universal) are also on DVD (though sadly not Blu-ray). Scream Factory released the first season of Hemlock Grove, but I don’t know what’s up with the rest (who actually owns that show?).

It may have sold well, but it also still has tons of stock left over if they keep dropping the prices on non-big event sales like Black Friday. They don't JUST look at sales, they look at how much return they got on their investment. If they do season 2, they should cut the production run down a little.

I don't see them doing a general release for season 2 when season 1 is a retail exclusive in general. Unless they sell it wide, potentially in a normal case and make Target have the VHS packaging as an exclusive from here on.

This is what I'd prefer. I had a custom cover printed out for me for both seasons, because that VHS case is bullshit.

If it's already in the system at this point, I think it's a good enough guess. Especially since season 1 was also released in October and Netflix/Target probably want to make that sweet Halloween money (like season 1).

That would be weird if they did considering that no digital retailer (Google Play, Amazon, etc) have the show available digitally. Maybe the 'digital copy' is code for 'free trial to Netflix'. Or maybe it's just not properly updated.

I don't know - I kind of thought they'd wait and release Season 2 on Blu-ray/4K right before the premiere of Season 3 next year. It almost makes more sense from a marketing standpoint.

Just picked this up tonight at Target. I didn’t believe the $5 reports...until I saw it tonight. It had a price tag on the shelf of $24.... can’t believe it was only $5

The packaging with the retro VHS is awesome
