Why would they replace these when they are likely working on the next release of the film. Edition 2,976? You’ll get what you want eventually. Personally, I’m more interested in how a movie looks. Unless the audio is out of sink or hisses like Dracula pre-restoration, I don’t care. That’s actually like arguing that Dracula should include the hiss track for completeness.

Doesn't sound like much has improved, if at all. I was already happy with the 35th Anniversary blu ray in terms of picture and sound quality. Still, I can't say that I won't buy this just out of curiosity and the packaging itself. I just may be ultimately disappointed by the overall value. Also, I wish the slip had sharp (not rounded) corners, and just the original poster art with nothing else, but I guess you can't have everything!

As a Canadian with a US mailing address, I very much agree. I'd order US exclusive releases like Lionsgate titles from Bullmoose all the time if they accepted Paypal, or allowed for a foreign billing address and credit card for domestically shipped orders the way that Target and Best Buy do.
While I have a US-issued credit card attached to my US address, I prefer using my (0% foreign exchange fee) Canadian credit card because I can pay it directly instead of having to convert money somewhere, which typically includes a fee, transfer that to my US bank, and then pay off the card. |

Another huge plus for using Paypal is how many sites do you trust to store you credit card/debit card data? Sites get hacked all the time. Remember the huge Target breach a couple years ago? Had to cancel my card and go through all the hassle of changing my card info on every site that had my card details. If you have pre-orders in that aren't paid yet things can get complicated.
Small online shops especially are questionable. Does anybody here have any idea how securely Diabolik or Deepdiscount or Bullmoose stores your sensitive payment data? I imagine some of these places would be easy for an attacker to breach. I think the only reason more of these small shops aren't hacked is because they're not prime targets due to such a small customer base. The hackers have their eyes on the big "targets' - like Target. Amazon would be gold but I'm assuming they have top security - at least as strong as they can implement. A credit card breach on Amazon would be disastrous for them and I'm betting they take security seriously. Then again mistakes happen and you never know if their security teams are up to proper standards - see Target. I do not trust small shops to have proper security. Subway was breached for months before anyone noticed. In fact, Newegg was hacked just recently - it was disclosed just last week. If you typed in your credit card into Newegg in the past several weeks, change the card number NOW! So paying by Paypal protects your payments because at no time does the actual store site have your credit card details. A hack would reveal your login info and maybe your address, but not your credit card info. Paypal is a bank - I trust their security more that Bullmoose or Diabbolik. |

This new disc per Bill Hunt is the best the film has looked but the gains are minor; on top of that, it lacks the original mono audio. I think it boils down to the original mono audio - if you don't care about it go ahead and buy it for best visuals to date; on the other hand if the original mono is important to you id give it a pass. |

Without the original mono I'm a no. Is the 35th anniversary edition a better choice? |

The 10/15 disc BD set is probably the same transfer as the UHD, minus the p3/HDR and a bit of digital cleanup. At least from the reviews ive read it doesnt sound like the uhd is much different so probably same transfer with some mastering differences.
