1) Is your HDR input on PC Mode (ie the input has the laptop logo)? If it does, you need to turn that off for HDR, PC Mode messes up the colors for HDR10 2) Do you have dynamic contrast on Medium or High? If so, trying turning it to Off or Low. |

No one else having any trouble with the audio cutting in and out? I have not tried the regular Blu-ray disc yet, but the audio skips in and out starting about a minute into the movie just after Carpenter’s name is shown. This does not happen with my recently purchased 4K of Blade Runner.

No audio issues on my k8500/LG B7A. Sounds and looks pretty darn good, though the color does seem a bit muted at times.
On a semi-related note, is it worth switching to something like the UBP-700 to make use of Dolby Vision? |

A big "no" from me regarding the desaturated colors on the 4K. I watched the TV footage included in the special features on the 4K disc and was shocked by the huge differences.
There are also entire chunks of missing audio from "The Night SHE Came Home." I actually had to stop watching it because of how annoying the problem was. |

Edit: changed it to blu ray player. The picture options get limited once in HDR mode. Last edited by SonSon III; 09-28-2018 at 08:26 PM. |

When Annie shouts "speed kills" the pitch shift in the music is back.I'm sure this was fixed on the 35th anniversary bluray. ?

That TV footage was transferred back in the late 90's, not exactly a great thing to compare this new master against.

It's funny you say that, I was just talking to someone this evening who said that the pitch shift and the last click of donalds gun were both present on the UHD. I was a bit sceptical...have they gone back and nixed some of the alterations/missing sounds on this 7.1 mix then?

The only things in the 7.1 that bother me are the changed sound effect in Annie's car and the first couple times we hear the Laurie's Theme music. It sounds tinny. Much better in the mono. I think the sound effect in Annie's car is a mistake because the three other times we hear that stinger (Michael's head popping into frame as Laurie drops off the key, when Michael comes out of the door and grabs Bob, and when we see Michael's body on the ground after Loomis shoots him), are the same in the 7.1 as they are in the mono.
I don't mind the added thunder, rain, and cricket sounds, although they are revisionist. The only change I prefer in the 7.1 is the opening credits music, which sounds much fuller than the mono, and we hear certain things that could really only be heard on the soundtrack. I wonder if the 7.1 allows for certain parts of the music to be heard better, or if they re-recorded some stuff or added in some original elements. |

Tried this one another TV and no audio issue (clipping in and out). So it's not the disc. But I tried it again with the Mono track and it works fine. So it seems like it's something with the 7.1 mix passing through my system? And I don't understand that at all, because I've never had this issue before in any capacity.
Anyone have any ideas? |
