They probably won’t do anything since the back of the case just says “English Mono.” Anchor Bay, on the other hand, definitely should’ve offered a replacement since the back of the 35th Anniversary disc says “Original Mono.”

got my US copy today, will wait until this evening to spin it. I gots no issue with watching horror movies out of season (there are 364 other days in the year than October 31st) but I ain't watching Halloween in the middle of the day, that just don't seem right.

I did a 35th Ann blu-ray / 4K comparison last night with my 2 players, toggling back and forth.
I agree with many here, the HDR on the 4K makes this the best release so far. What stood out for me were the following scenes: - When Michael escapes at the beginning, and you see the back of the station wagon as Michael gets in and Nurse Marion slips down the muddy embankment - the scene is bathed in an eerie red glow from the station wagon's taillights that looks flat/duller on the blu ray. - the scene where Laurie and Annie are driving to their babysitting gigs and the setting sun is winking through the windshield, just beautiful. My only complaint (and it's a very very small one) is that on the 4K the pumpkin in the open titles is definitely duller/less orange than the pumpkin on the blu-ray - but again that's nothing compared to the improved detail, grain handling, and contrast on the 4K. Excellent release for any Halloween fan. |

I'm extremely disappointed with the 4K version, I did not get the 35th version on Blu, I just have the original blu from years ago. This new 4K version is so pale it looks dead. I'm not sure what happened to the colors. I think Halloween is the movie I've bought the most in my life, and this version is my least favorite, in fact, I'll never watch it.

I always disliked that scene. That knife was not nearly long enough to go through his entire body and out his back and dig deep enough into the wall to pin him to it and hold his weight. It's an absurd scene. I love the film, but that scene was ridiculous.
