Man, I’d really appreciate it if the digital and physical people would stop bringing out and waving their credentials around already? Do you really think it is going to change anyone’s mind at this point? Enjoy what you like and stop trying to disprove the other side in ridiculous ways.
You're right Donster, Garbage In, Garbage Out, we should be happy with what we have. We keep hashing over the same old things, and we are not going to change anyone's mind. It just makes for interesting reading sometimes. This Thread has evolved from the beginning, and new information keeps coming up from time to time. Thanks for putting us back on the right track.

Annoyed that I could not find the 4K x-men trilogy in Target today.

I cut cable today. But i still will use my mother's password to watch my shows on the Roku.

I never used the physical box as streaming looks better but they told me I had to have a box to keep cable so i just cancelled completely.

So i just pay for internet and filmstruck and mooch Netflix hulu n cable apps

I ditched cable in 2014; doing so has saved me a lot of money and I don't miss it one bit.

You have ditched cable, but essentially still have access to it. That's pretty sweet.

X-Men are pretty popular; it'll show up again soon.

I’m sorry, now I’m beating a Whether it is digital or physical, the data being thrown around is only relevant to like minded people alchav21 and Wendell. Most of us in this forum, let alone this thread, aren’t as serious about our viewing as some of you more serious videophiles are. We aren’t hardwired or have the top of the line home entertainment set up. We’re quite content with whatever we’re currently using for our viewing pleasure and no amount of findings is going to change that. So your background doesn’t really matter unless you’re trying to be the smartest person in the room? Which is kind of how it comes off when you mention for the up tenth time you worked for AT&T or your AV background. It is just white noise at this point

Well we guessed that. Digital is convenience, Disc is quality. A point you have been arguing against for seven years. Many on here have great AV setups yet continue to waste that playing inferior content. They then claim that digital is as good as disc which it clearly isn’t.

That point seems to be lost on some here.

That poster seems to think they are some kind of thread police . I will post anything that I deem fits this threads title and this sites rules. Is there some force that I am not aware of that makes one read another persons post?

Exactly. An economy burger is never going to match the finest steak after all, but delusional sorts could well convince themselves otherwise.

Blu-ray and UHD discs forever!

For years you have stated (along with others) that you want solid facts and sources yet when you are presented with them, they don’t matter? Which is it?

Sorry, but no. What I’ve been arguing with you about is this gloom and doom future you’ve been predicting for over 7 years that still hasn’t happened every time you read or see something in some bias, muckraking rag site. Despite popular belief and fun facts the sky is not falling Chicken Little. Because in that time streaming as come a long way? Do I think it is as good as a disc? No, but it is catching up. How someone can be against one aspect of digital and not all is beyond me. This is where my problem is with you.

Is this seriously coming from the man who’s repeatedly posted the forums guidelines in an attempt to micromanage the thread, told me to man up because I disagreed with them about the intent of another members post, called alchav21’s Best Buy, backand then when called on it by myself and others blocked us? Any active participant knows that it is and you’re just trying to sidestep by deflecting it back on others. So stop about me and start talking to me if you have something to say. AKA man UP!

Yet articles keep popping up indicating just how digital is changing things, especially with a younger demographic. I mention my theory about attention spans and the fact that millennias in general and younger folks especially can’t seem to focus one piece of video and need to be doing other things. I also mention the miniaturisation Of video and you guys howl with laughter. Steedeel, people aren’t going to watch video on a 1.5 inch screen! No?

Take a look at this!

https://www.popsci.com/youtube-mini-...r-neuroscience

This has been heavily requested. This can also be implemented on any streaming service, not just YouTube.

All those that laughed in my face, sent sarcastic gifs, etc.. people are requesting this feature. Let’s see if you guys can reply WITHOUT deflecting things with gifs.

Not that Best Buy is the be all, end all of retailers out there for physical product but I was at two this weekend. The movie sections are following in the footsteps of their now defunct CD section. Smaller, disorganized, low stock on the shelves and bargain bins every where. 4K sections you could here a pin drop.

It’s not just entertainment stores, it’s most stores here in the U.K. the internet has killed the high street.

Imagine this not as the now but as how future generations scratch the itch of watching content but posting on social media also. See how what I said is now starting to take shape? No, of course you won’t see it.

What we've mocked - and will continue to mock, I'm sure - is the absurd notion that any of the myriad things you panic over will lead to death of cinema or home theater as we know it. Or anything else of any interest or import.

When TVs disappear or Hollywood stops making movies you get to say 'I told you so'.

Until then...

No,I’m pretty sure the vast majority on here said folk did not want to watch video on a tiny 1.5 inch screen (smartwatch). That sir, is exactly what they will be doing with this REQUESTED new feature. Some are even saying it’s how streaming services will work for social media crazy younger media consumers.

Unless I'm missing something, I've been doing that on the iOS YouTube app for ages. If I'm watching a craft tutorial but something is unclear or they are using a new product, I shrink the video and search while the video is still playing.

OhHhHhHhhHh.

No, I think we scoffed at the idea that significant numbers of people would watch live sporting events or tv shows or movies on watches.

Wake me up when that happens.

No, it's actually not. People aren't staring at a 1.5 inch screen watching cats chase laser pointers. They're watching cats chase laser pointers in a popup window while looking at other things on the rest of their screen.

Not that I would particularly (or even slightly) care if people ever did start watching cats chase laser pointers on a 1.5 inch screen.

I mean, why would I?

I don't care how people interact with social media now and I certainly don't care how 'future generations' will do whatever it is they decide to do or not do.

Why would I?
