I had and still do have a large collection, but alot of them suck. I would blind buy alot of them, and if I didnt like them, oh well, it would still increase my collection.

I treat blu-rays differently. I would like my library to all be titles that I really enjoy and am proud to have. And before I buy one, I will read it's review on here because I double-dipped enough in my dvd days. I recently went through the blu rays that have been released already and added the ones I want to my wishlist. So far, I only have 19 blu's but love them all.

Does anyone else feel the same way? Have you grown out of your "Look how many blu's I have" stage and converted to "Check out how many awesome movies I have on blu!" stage?
My wife and I just had that same talk were not going to do that this way around. No blind buys unless we know its gona be good, we bought so many horrable movies on dvd and no upgrading to blu ray unless there good ones like

yeah, I got past the quantity stage a few weeks ago when I sold about 50-60blu's on ebay. Seems like you can own hundreds and still just end up watching the same 10-15 great movies (amazing pq and aq) every month.

Its all about quality to me, more so the films quality itself. But I have read some stuff on here that makes me laugh...

"Max Payne was a horrible movie but I might buy it because the audio is really good"

I mean, why buy a horrible movie if the audio is good? Does that make the film itself more watchable?

Don't buy Face Off on blu ray if you have it on DVD already. The video transfer is less than stellar. I bought this movie 2 times on blu ray and sold it 2 times because I couldn't stand the PQ. With no lost though since I bought it during deals.

Just because it has a 99% on rottentomatoes.com doesn't mean you'll like it.

Now, the solution is costly but very well worth it: just rent the DVD of any Blu-ray you plan to buy. If you like it, great, buy it. If not, well you just saved yourself 20-30 USD.
So true about NO Country for Men.

$20-30 on blu ray? No wonder you have to be so selective. My movies on average cost me about $11 and that is with a couple of boxsets included with it too.
