Disney Favorite Disney "Collection"

Disney is known for being a money-grubber company , which is why they have come up with the stupid "vault" idea! Over the years, they keep putting some classic films in the "vault", therefore it is extremely hard to find a cheap copy of an older film (ebay is by far the best choice in these situations). Consequently, they keep releasing new editions of classic films, often under a new collection. Walt Disney Classics, Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection & Walt Disney Gold Classic Collection, to name a few. However, the 3 best known collections are the Platinum Editions (2001-2009), the Diamond Editions (2009-2015) and the Walt Disney Signature Collection (2016-today). The Platinum Editions were the first to feature their classic films restored in both VHS & DVD, as well as some never-before seen bonus features, which are also included in the Diamond Editions and the Signature Collection (most of them, anyway.) It was also the first collection to release Disney films on Blu-ray ("Sleeping Beauty" and "Pinocchio"). Then, the Diamond Editions included all of the films that were previously released, on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D ("Beauty and the Beast", "The Lion King" and "The Little Mermaid"). This is the first collection to include Digital Copies of the films. Finally, the Walt Disney Signature Collection started last year and it is by far the most uneeded. It does feature never-before seen extras, but the Diamond Editions were almost perfect. Word has it that the Signature Collection will be the first collection to include both classic films, as well as new ones, such as "Frozen" & "Tangled". I hope this theory comes true!
Soo after a long prologue, which collection is your favorite?

*By the way, it must be noted that all 3 collections started with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", which is the first Disney full-length film ever released!

You got my hopes up. I thought they were re-releasing the Treasures Collections on blu-ray.

Signature, because every movie comes with a digital copy. Diamond was a craps shoot, some did and some didn't.

My favorite collection actually isn't listed, that would be the VHS Classics. I liked the cover art and it had some of the best titles (it was the only collection to include Fantasia, Alice in Wonderland, and Dumbo for instance).

But of the disc era so far the winner would be Platinum for me. If Fantasia makes it into Signature I may change my mind.

I would say Platinum was the best at really trying to give us a wide selection of bonus features. If only it had the Diamond blu ray picture quality for all of the films, and the digital copies & transfer corrections (so far) of the Signature releases.

Which is why, on this day in history, I would like to predict/name the next line:
THE WALT DISNEY LEGACY COLLECTION
(yes, I know that's the name of the recent cd release sets, but it still works haha)
Including:
-4K releases of the classic vault titles, starting with Snow White (Disney, don't start in the middle of the Signature line, please).
-UHD Digital Copies
-Every special feature ever released for each title, on disc (4K discs can hold that, right?), organized by previous releases. Should be a piece of cake to get all of that together.
-Options to view each film in its OAR (with or without the DisneyView art), or in widescreen (for the ones they've released it in so far).
-Options to view Sing-Along modes, as well as the Special Editions of BatB & TLK. Neither of these are for everybody, but should still be included.
-New Cover Art, no reused clip art from previous releases.
-A thank you note from Disney for our years of repurchasing the same titles over and over

Anything else we need??

For any future 4k line it would be really amazing to get a secondary archival disc of a raw high res scan (i.e. zero or minimal DNR) of the classic animated films--with dirt, grain, print damage, flicker and all--as an option for those who would prefer the original analog/filmic look rather than the modernized digitally cleaned up versions. Sort of the video equivalent of the blu-rays including both the original mono soundtrack along with a modernized 7.1 home theater remix. No judgements on which version would be "better" but I do think it would be a very cool historical document of the animated films and interesting to compare the original and scrubbed up versions.

Disney should also always include the original trailers for the films. I may not always watch every special feature for a film but to me trailers are the one really necessary extra to view either before or after watching a movie to see how the film was originally advertised to the public.

Those details would certainly made me buy this collection!!!
But (in my opinion) it would be nice to include ALL Walt Disney Animation Studios films, from "Snow White" to "Moana" (depending on when the new collection would be released), because new Disney films (such as "Frozen" and "Tangled") are already considered classics for some and deserve to be included in a future collection!

Platinum Edition for consistent covers and bonus features.
Signature Collection for video quality and comfortable menus, and while the covers are inconsistent, they are not as awful as the Diamond Edition's.
