It is the cost, it will be cheaper to buy a Blu-ray player that does Dolby TrueHD and can output to an analog output then replace my processor to something that can support HDMI and TrueHD. I don't mind the 2 channel SACD except the PS3 is only going output the TrueHD over HDMI (I am assuming it supports TrueHD). It just seems standards can be very slow to be adopted in Audio/Video world and not always implemented the same. For example, having talked to a few Arcam dealers, the company does not believe that HDMI is right interface for audio so no matter what standard of HDMI they support, they do not support audio over HDMI. Maybe when they lose out on too many sales will they change that kind of policy.

Somewhere there has to be a compromise which I am probably will be to keep a separate SACD player for the time being.

Having a separate SACD player is really not a bad thing. Even though my PS3 will output SACD via the analog outs to my receiver, I have a separate SACD player that I use for SACD, the Sony DVP-S9000ES. 2-channel SACD only but that's fine with me.

I will eventually update my denon AVR-3300 to a newer receiver capable of decoding the new audio formats, but I'm going to wait.
