yeah that was very unfortunate given the hype around that, but it still worked very well after that moment.

What happened to the
[Show spoiler]kid the girl was babysitting
? Was he the one who called in a "
[Show spoiler]domestic disturbance
" that the Sheriff responded to? I feel like he would've been a bit more descriptive of the situation.

Going spoiler tag crazy just in case. haha.

[Show spoiler]He ran like hell and never looked back.

I assumed that a neighbor called in the domestic disturbance, presumably after Julian showed up at their house. Or before... they got there pretty quickly.

After having it settle overnight - I give the film a 3-star - a more neutral rating.

I thought it was fine...a solid Halloween sequel, but I will take H20 as my wrap up to the Laurie Strode saga (ignoring Resurrection, of course). I just didn't find the Sarah Conner iteration of Laurie very interesting. The last 20 minutes or so were great but everything up to that point felt pretty rote and at times...dull.

I very much enjoyed this one but agree with you that H20 overall was a much more energetic, enthusiastic and focused "reunion" of Myers and Strode. It ranks second only to the original 1978 classic on my list of Halloween films. Still, this one delivers another excellent performance from Curtis and another entry that is far, far superior to Resurrection and the two Rob Zombie films.

Agreed, I really didn't like her in this film.

I liked this one a lot better than Halloween II. Honestly, I didn't really like II that much. Better than 4 and 6, but dropped off pretty big from the original.

Wtf. Now I'm pissed. I didn't get Happy Death Day 2U in front of my screening. I was really looking forward to it.

Apparently my friend got a trailer for a movie called The Prodigy and said it was super creepy. But there's nothing online for it.

Umm...yeah. That's the point. She survived something so horrific and terrifying, that it's greatly impacted and effected the rest of her life. She's a mess. She's always on guard. She's suffering from PTSD. She has spent her entire life preparing for an event in which Myers gets out and she has to defend herself and family again. I don't think it ruins her character at all. It actually makes the most amount of sense. I don't think your criticisms hold much weight over that.

I really wish people didn't equate the quality of a horror film to how "scary" it is. Different things effect and scare different people. Nothing scares me in movies, yet horror is my favorite genre. I couldn't imagine not liking anything that didn't scare me.

Seems like my theater played extremely different trailers from everyone else. I got:

Glass
Bohemian Rhapsody
Mary Queen of Scots
The Favourite

Hmm...I don't know how accurate that is. Because I didn't get Mortal Engines or Happy Death Day 2U at mine.

Jesus if it weren’t for Resurrection, H20 would be the worst in the franchise. Shocked to see any love for it.

Why shocked? It's the best one of the non-Thorn ones. HI, HII, H20 - that's a perfect trilogy right there.

H20 doesn’t even feel like a Halloween movie. Awful cinematography and atmosphere.

Liked this one alot. Thought it was a combination of a tribute to the original and a crafty remake of h20. Grandchild, weathered, alcoholic, and paranoid Strode, patient and intense Myers. Probably my second favorite of the series.

Yeah, that was cool, but it was also a bit cartoonish.
[Show spoiler]Was the sheriff a zombie from The Walking Dead? Why did his head splatter like a grape when being stomped on like that? I get that Myers is an unstoppable Boogeyman, but come on.

I don't reduce horror films (also my favorite genre) to a string of scares, please don't suggest that to make a point. And yes, it is all subjective, which is one of horror's virtues. I do prefer horror films that have some effect on me, whether it's tension, unease, unsettling ideas, or just an enjoyably creepy atmosphere.

4/5 - For a slasher it shied away from the gore too much; everything happens off-screen, out of sight, or in the shadows. Great film though and an excellent follow-up to the very first Halloween movie.

Agreed. H20 is terrible. I’ll never understand the love people have for that film.

Wrong. It was even directed by Steven Miner who already had experience in horror directing Friday the 13th II & III, House, and Warlock. I'm a fan of Gordon Green, but he was basically rearranging what came before. He really didn't add anything new to it, which makes it really irritating that it's not up there in terms of being great. At least H20 is consistent and acts as a legit Part III to the Michael Myers mythos.

I'm obsessed with the movie score. It's fantastic. Listened to the entire thing after I came home last night.
