Just got done watching Cloverfield. Damn it's awesome! The quality is amazing, after watching it on normal dvd over 5 times, you see so many things clearer and notice things you haven't seen before. Amazing.

Depends on your taste in movies...... but I steer towards the better audio presentations, although good picture quality never hurts

For the "WOW, I can't believe that movie can look like that" affect... I suggest checking out 2001, Bladerunner, Ratatoulli, Patton (some disagree, but I say it looks great!)

Also, Casablanca looks phenomenal.

Check out "Master and Commander" and "Rambo" for some good audio bits as well.

Welcome, and Enjoy! Also, don't forget to search the forums for movies you're interested in..... if it's been released on Blu-ray, chances are there are 20 threads available talking about the audio, video, movie itself, and god knows what-else!!!!!

Collecting blu-ray titles is addicting now that I got my PS3. Right now I have two (Sleeping Beauty and Smallville - Season 7). I am also trying to buy complete sets on DVD. I want to buy complete sets but it is more fun collecting blu-ray. My next one I am getting is the Spider-Man Trilogy in blu-ray. I bet it will look great.

Yo dude...Nice choices for your first 3...I,Robot had me standing with my mouth open when I first put it on...Along with 300!

But, 300 rules! PCM track is f'ing killer! And it looks killer too...The grain is supposed to be there! The pixar films are amazing too!

Here is what I own for ideas...Last 3 I got for free with my PS3, not sure I would have bought them...Napoleon Dynamite will be added on Tuesday as well...

Cars
Ratatouille
Wall-e
I,Robot
The Descent
Hancock
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
300
Spider-man Trilogy
The Patriot
Lost Season 3
Lost Season 4
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Stargate
Iron Man
Groundhog Day
Batman Begins
Wedding Crashers
The Godfather Trilogy
Live Free or Die Hard
Knocked Up
The Fifth Element
Superbad
Elf
Invincible
Night at the Museum
50 First Dates

I liked I, Robot but I wasn't a fan of the other two.

The sound on Cloverfield is 70% of the movie. I use this as a demo for sound, and 2001: A Space Odyssey as a demo for picture.
