Spikes or Rubber feet?

So spikes will sound clearer than rubber feet? As at the moment my monitor audio speakers have the plastic feet with rubber stoppers on the bottom. The only difference when adding spikes is they screw into them.
But can I ask what benefit these pennies under the feet will have? Aside from them looking like an eyesore.

This is starting to sound like taking a brand new Lamborghini and putting it on bricks in your drive way!

Also, should all speakers be on spikes, even rear speakers on a tower?
