This sort of thing is fairly common but can cause huge problems, especially in stand your ground states where a homeowner can potentially shoot you, depending on the law.

Never mind hilarious, that's just plain stupid. The thing is, of all the drugs they test for, I'd be willing to bet coke has the least residual effect as far as staying in a world class athlete's system. They're always sweating, working out, hydrating that I bet it's in and out of their bodies pretty quickly.

Speaking following the Giants' trade of CB Eli Apple, coach Pat Shurmur said the team has no plans to bench Eli Manning.

In other words, even though they are tanking, the G-Men won't bench their quarterback. Of course, you could easily argue leaving Manning in augments the tank. Coming off his best game of the season, Manning will be a low-end QB2 against the Redskins. Washington likes to dominate time of possession and keep the opposing offense off the field, limiting plays.

You have to take what he says with a grain of salt as he follows his teams closely but as far as other teams he relies on news and surface info. Take the Niners for instance, he keeps insisting they are tanking and points to how bad they are based on their record. I am the first one to sh-t on my team but the Niners aren't tanking, are better than their record indicates. They have been competitive in every game except this past week against the Rams, who are arguably the best team in league.
I just use the Niners as an example because I follow my team closely and watch every play of every game whereas Batman just looks at the W-L column and makes his hot take. In the NBA thread he admitted he only follows his team, the T-Wolves, everything else is just surface info.

Who the hell would they even bench Eli for? Like it or not, he's their best option and they're gonna have to go down on that ship.

And I don't think the Giants are actively tanking, not with the NFC East (sadly) still up for grabs if they somehow manage to turn things around and heat up. Niners I'm not sure about. Raiders are having a full-on fire sale.

According to the Athletic's Vic Tafur, a number of Raiders veterans have questioned coach Jon Gruden's "accountability" in the wake of the Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper trades.

"When what you say and what you do are two different things, there is a problem," one player told Tafur. Gruden allegedly told the players Cooper would not be traded, and then he was flipped to the Cowboys after the bye. Cooper was pulled off the practice field with no explanation. Gruden didn't tell the players why, and also talked to the media about the trade before addressing the team, as the rest of the squad learned of the deal via their phones. "Of course I’m concerned about the locker room," veteran TE Lee Smith said. Another player added, "I think many of us realize we won’t be here next year. We are just waiting to see if we will be here next week." The Gruden tenure is off to a roaring start.
