Default Halloween Kills (2021)

Soo... With the huge success of Halloween (2018) which to date has pulled in $103,081,717 Worldwide, and still has yet to open in a few more territories, plus the IMAX screenings. The sequel is inevitable. So without further ado.

Quote:
Danny McBride On Inevitable ‘Halloween’ Sequel

DEADLINE: You make movies like this to launch or revive franchises. How far along are you on the inevitable sequel?

MCBRIDE: We definitely have ideas of what we would do. I think we did not allow ourselves to really indulge those ideas until the movie came out. We just wanted to put all our hopes and dreams in having this film stick the landing. But we do have thoughts and ideas of what we could possibly do. We hadn’t invested a ton of time on them, but now we’re being asked to figure it out. There are definitely talks on whether we will do more of them and we’re just trying to see what best makes sense.

Kinda odd that there has never been a Halloween III, well with it being about Michael Myers anyway.

Don't care about the title. Loved H40. If they can keep up the quality, I'm all for another Halloween movie. No need for Laurie again. But if they come up with something interesting and make her come back, I am pleased. Let James Jude Courtney reprise his role of MM and let Carpenter do the score again and we have a winner on our hands.

I think it should have been done after H20, but I’ve enjoyed the later sequels to varying degrees.

Blumhouse is obviously gonna make a string of sequels now, but I don’t understand why fans are clamouring for it. If you liked the new film wasn’t that satisfying enough? How many more movies of Michael Myers killing people on Halloween do you need? It’s very unlikely the sequels will be any better, and it’s just dragging out a thin concept while negating the ending of the last movie that gave a pretty satisfying and cathartic ending for Laurie Strode. It’s not worth tainting that just for the sake of more sequels.
[Show spoiler] I know they didn’t actually show his burning body to give them an excuse for a sequel, but it still works as definitive ending as it’s impossible for Michael to escape from where he was trapped.

I hope Jamie Lee doesn’t return to avoid making the same mistake again. If they want to use Alyson Strode as the protagonist just reveal at the start of the next movie that Laurie died of natural causes at peace with her family. That way I can avoid the sequels. I’m too much of a fan of Jamie Lee/Laurie Strode to not watch a sequel if she returns.

I'm all for it. There is something great about going to see a Halloween movie in the Fall. It is sort of a tradition for many of us old folk.

I won’t be bothering with any more. The first one stood alone, the second one opened a whole can of worms and decades load of crap, the newest brought it to a dignified close.

Shouldn’t this thread be part of Halloween 2018 spoilers? The implication of a sequel implies Michael doesn’t die. Common sense says he never dies but that isn’t what the commercial push for this movie’s “final showedown” promises.

I wonder if there are enough Michael Myers films now for Halloween fans to accept another film without him in it.

Michael is getting around fairly well for a 60 something year old man. Eventually he is going to have to retire from slashing or just a normal everyday guy who isn't as skilled in martial arts as Busta Rhymes would be able to take him out now that he has started to get elderly.

Right? Honestly, I like Season of the Witch, despite being Michael-less!

I'd like a sequel done kinda like Maniac, entirely from Michael's POV.

I frickin' knew it. No closure, just Jamie Lee dragged out for another five-minute contractual obligation cameo before getting killed off AGAIN. And THIS one won't kill off Michael either.

LET. IT. DIE.
