Stranger Things Season 2 (2017) (Target Exclusive) - Blu-ray Forum

Just like Season one, it looks like Target will have an exclusive release for Season Two of Netflix's Stranger Things, on Blu-ray, and UHD on November 6th (or 9th) The release will come in an over-sized VHS-style packaging, just like the first.

Just that I wish it came out before Halloween and that we had a bit more advance notice. Still, will be buying this next week for sure.

Awesome news. I wonder if the UHD version will have different artwork compared the standard Blu-ray edition like season one.

Definitely going to wait a few weeks this time. Last year I hurried to the store to make sure I'd get a copy, just to see a $15 price drop and upgrade to 4k within a month...

Awesome! At least this time the 4K pack is being released at the same time as the regular version, so I don't have to buy it twice again.

According to the latest from Netflix they are purposely waiting for Summer 2019. I believe it's because both Netflix has an onslaught of original programming and also because the creators want to kids to age more between seasons...

Filming is one thing, but then there's post-processing, editing, etc..which can take a couple months too. Plus, I'm sure Netflix has a certain roadmap for their originals that they're planning to adhere to. Signs point to this being a Summer 2019 release.

I'm sure post-production on a series like Stranger Things takes a little while (especially with special effects and whatnot). By the way, I've read that the new season will likely premiere in May or June of 2019.

I’m very surprised they’re releasing this. Target has so many of season one still laying around. Definitely waiting for Black Friday since last year they were $10 that day.

It was overproduced, but it's sold really well by all accounts.

Since when is Target and Target alone held as the barometer for whether there is demand for something on Blu-ray? I personally go out of my way not to shop there. And as Mifunefan stated, how may copies did they sell? Did it sell well or not? The number of copies a particular store has in stock at any given moment doesn't answer that question one way or the other. And as surprised as you are that it's being released, you're going to wait until you can purchase it for the lowest price possible. Maybe it's just me, but I see some irony there, not that there's anything wrong with getting the best deal.
