Doesn't look like it'll come with slipcase, but mimicking VHS clamshell from video rental stores. Question, I wonder if the BTS pics included will be different from the bluray/DVD set as those has two different posters. Last edited by jayman3; 10-31-2018 at 11:19 AM. |

No indication on the package or the discs of HDR. What a shame they dropped the ball again. I'll hold off until the reviews come out. Too many proper 4K discs out there to buy.
If I miss out, I miss out. Wasn't that impressed with Season 2 anyway. Netflix seems to ignore their customer's complaints about no HDR. Fine. No first day purchase for me. I'll pick up a used 4K copy in March from an Amazon vendor if I feel I really need to add it to my collection. I can wait. |

I've only checked the 4K disc 1, so far I can confirm:
1 skippable trailer for Lost in Space HDR10 [Show spoiler] DTS-HD MA (I'll assume 5.1, my player doesn't specify and I'm only using a 2.1 setup) [Show spoiler] English (CC) subtitles (I don't think anyone asked, but that's very important to me) [Show spoiler]

I'm in like Flynn for the 4k set now! HDR10 at the very least and DTS MA 5.1 for the audio. Your player shows it's DTS MA 5.1 because it says Multichannel. That normally means the track is greater than stereo and the package stated DTS MA 5.1 on the back of the case. |

Because the first season on UHD, also had a skippable trailer for the second season of Stranger Things, which was in HDR, but then the show itself was SDR. |

I got HDR pop ups for the FBI warning, Lost in Space, Menu, and First Episode. The one I posted a picture of is the beginning of the first episode.

Want both this and season 1 but have a hard time justifying it when it will probably be on Netflix for a long time. And PQ is great through Netflix already.
Might consider it if I could get both for $25 or so. Last edited by maverick22; 10-30-2018 at 11:32 PM. |

Oh, the discs are definitely better than the streamed version. The bitrate tells the story somewhat as they have multiple times the video bitrates of the streamed files. The audio has a richer, punchier quality too. Netflix employs a kind of audio dynamic leveling on their streamed tracks and that can dumb things down besides the bitrate issue. No. Just audio specs on the back of the case. The OP is showing HDR10 encoding. He got lucky, I guess? Last edited by FilmFreakosaurus; 10-30-2018 at 11:44 PM. |

Of course it's going to have HDR ya ding dongs
The only reason why S01 didn't was because it was graded in SDR. Season 1 is only available in 4K SDR on Netflix too! S02 was graded in HDR and it has HDR on Netflix. |
