The only reason why S01 didn't was because it was graded in SDR. Season 1 is only available in 4K SDR on Netflix too!

S02 was graded in HDR and it has HDR on Netflix.
Finally, someone with some sense. Came here to post the same thing.

I do not see anything on the discs about HDR.
That's because Netflix, in its infinite wisdom, chose to limit the listed specs info on the disc sets compared to other studios.

Already confirmed to have HDR10.

I think it's reasonable to have been skeptical of Netflix until proven otherwise given the skimped upon 4k discs of the prior release. Regardless of HDR grading or not on S1, the 4k discs had Rec 709 color and lossy audio. Pretty shitty for a high level 4k disc release even without HDR. That's something you would expect from Mill Creek, not Netflix.

I don't like the "Hawkins Video" sticker. Why would Hawkins Video have a copy of Stranger Things when Hawkins is a fictional town that only exists in Stranger Things? Makes no sense.

Will pick it up since I like season 1 but don't subscribe to netflix. I hope the 4k transfer is better this time around. And I am wondering if I should pick it when it comes or on black friday.

It's okay. There's medication you can take.

Season 1 had an HDR grade done by Technicolor but wasn't released by Netflix (it was listed on their own website on a bragging chart for work they had done). An HDR disc for season 1 could have and should have happened.

Holy cow - proper disc storage on plastic hubs this time - I'm suddenly a lot more interested in this.

Love the red VHS top art and the retro-VHS cover.

My local Target is resetting their media section (read:drastically reducing the amount of media they're carrying to make more room for useless nic-nacks that will fill up landfills along with beanie babies in a few years) and hasn't put out any new releases in a few weeks now. I may have to order this online once it is posted.

Nope, They are foam hubs on cardboard. The box is cardboard, not plastic like the VHS cases it is imitating.

[Show spoiler]

I've also checked all the discs in the 4K set. No special features and disc 1 of the Blu-ray portion has an unskippable Lost in Space trailer.

So, did they go with BD-66's or BD-100's this time, and did they go with 3 episodes per disc?

I'm not sure how to check the type of disc, but it is 3 episodes per disc.

lucky OP. took a detour to my local Target, not in my store, probably won't see them on shelves til set street date, which, on the 6th, won't overlap with the running B2G1 promo that ends on 3rd.

Good to know HDR is confirmed, I understand it's the aesthetics of the VHS tape look, but I don't see reason why Netflix couldn't slap a HDR sticker on the outside plastic wrap unless they are REALLY anal about that retro packaging.
