My Collection feature for Blu-ray.com (Suggest Database Additions Thread)

I love the Collection feature and havent ran into any problems yet but I will be getting the Ultimate Matrix collection and Godfather trilogy soon and it looks like there still isnt a way to add individual titles on these and other sets. Previously for sets (ie Resident Evil trilogy), I added each title individually with a comment below it "The High Definition Trilogy 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc". My question is, Is individual counting for box sets ever going to be implemented or in the works?

After scourging the forums for answers on how to count Boxsets, it seems there are many in the same boat as I and a lot of posts favor that method of counting:

Yes they have the trilogy on there, which is what I have... but the system counts it as 1 BD when it should count as 3. So instead I have been putting things in individually i.e. Gangster Collection, Comedy 3 pack and Horror 3 pack.

The problem of course is what to count as a title. In your example I would say 7 because The Animatrix has been released individually in the past.

EDIT: Since there is not SKU's/UPC's for the individual Matrix and Godfather titles since they have not been released seperately it makes sense that those titles didnt magically appear in the system but something that may work is assign a number value to those sets (ie Ult. Matrix Collection would count as 4). Discs solely for Bonus features wouldnt count but titles like Animatrix which was released as a standalone on DVD would. Just a suggestion.

The Fog has been in the database for ages. I added it and Escape from New York to my collection a long time ago.

Is there ever going to be a way for people to add titles to the database themselves? There are so many UK releases not in the database, even existing releases missing covers (The Lost Boys for example). At the moment I'm substituting the US release where it's a available, but some aren't and it's obviously not ideal.

DUH. I had my movie list preferences set to USA only. Once I added UK I was able to view The Fog in the movie database (and add to my collection). Thanks.

I'm certain someone has already mentioned this but I care not to read through 400+ posts to find the answer... Why are SteelBooks not listed in the Movies section?... I see a total of 13 and almost all of them are from Germany... Why can't we get them listed?...

I just use the regular listing and denote steelbook in the comments. The reason the German ones are there is because they are sold on Amazon and imported into the database

I should be all caught up until AnimeOnBlu's large request. Some of the titles requested are from countries that aren't supported on this site yet, so I can't add them. Yes, there will eventually be a way for users to submit requests, but keep requesting them here until then. Steelbooks (as well as exclusive covers) don't typically get added to the database. The difference being the Amazon.com exclusive versions as we are an Amazon Affliate, and we have to pay for this place somehow. Box sets will remain being counted as one until the power that be release them individually.

Thanks for clearing that up. Heres hoping some do get released individually for accurate counts sake, but not a life changing event either way. Godfather trilogy is ordered and will be my 1st boxset that all titles cannot be accounted for. But the collection feature has become one of my favorite features and I look foward to doing some custom sorting and seeing how it will further evolve.

Thank you for adding the UK versions of Flags of Our Fathers and Happy Feet. I just noticed some inaccuracies/mistakes from the information I found and posted:


Flags of Our Fathers:

-The English Dolby Digital 2.0 Audio Descriptive Service is not listed.
-It is a One-disc set, not a Two-disc set.
-It says 2.340:1 instead of 2.40:1 for the aspect ratio. (I'm sure it's just a typo. Done my fair share. )


Happy Feet:

-It lists French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 EX tracks. It is actually Dutch and I believe Finnish (hard to tell from the picture) Dolby Digital 5.1 EX tracks, as well as an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Audio Descriptive Service track. (Please reference the link in my post on page 20 for more information.)

Again, these are for the UK releases. I again thank you for all of your hard effort.

You answered your question. It is the target version. Therfore I couldn't go out and buy it at wal mart if I wanted too. I beleive that this site dosen't post versions of the movie that are a one store special.

just enter it as batman, TDK reg version and under comments just state that it was the Target Exclusive. Thats what I do to accommodate titles not in database. I am not sure they are gonna start adding store exclusives
