You need to see it before Chris Chibnall reboots it with Jodie Whittaker attempting to kill Trump.

The latter sounds like an equally engaging prospect though

Oh, I know, I didn't mean it like that. I just clarified the macroblocking as it isn't something I've previously ran into with a bluray, and wasn't still that sure I was talking about the right thing.

I managed to pick up a few relatively recent releases (The two Bergman, the Children's Hour, An Actor's Revenge, Wages of Fear) for 6 quid each in Fopp this evening, so assume HMV won't be too far behind (apologies if this ends up being a Fopp only thing).
Cheers for the tip. Very happy to find Celine & Julie for £6 in Fopp, would've got Wages of Fear if it'd been there. Did you notice if Shiraz or J'Accuse were in the offer?

^ Shiraz wasn't in the promotion and I don't think J'Accuse was either in the Fopp I visited yesterday.

Isn't it strange that Maurice will be released by the BFI again, while Cohen brought their own Howards End edition to the UK via Sony? I can't imagine that the BFI wouldn't have liked to do both films, or that Cohen just didn't trust any other label to get the aspect ratio right...

I wonder where Heat and Dust comes out. And when - released 11 months ago in the US.

Does anyone have a list of titles in the Fopp sale? I found this image which suggests Wages of Fear is included, though I'd like to know if The Orchard End Murder, Akenfield and Separate Tables are included.

Also, will this £15.99 pricing be the norm going forward? I notice they're not dropping into the 2 for £25 at HMV, which is annoying.

Annoying that this offer isn't active at HMV too, and also annoying they're not 2 for £25 on pre-order. That will definitely affect my decision to pre-order BFI titles going forward.

EDIT: I can see The Orchard End Murder in that pick.

If it turns out to be at HMV too, I'll get them myself, but if not I'd appreciate it if someone could grab me a few and post them to me? I'm after Celine and Julie Go Boating, When the Wind Blows and The Touch in particular (and The Sacrifice too from the Artificial Eye offer...weirdly not listed on the HMV site).

I think it more than suggests no? Pretty sure Separate Tables isn't in the offer and I never saw Akenfield on the promotion stand but that doesn't mean it's not in it as I picked up Daughters Of The Dust which was just in the normal section.

I didn't want to take the risk so worked out a visit to Fopp and bought a bunch of titles on Saturday including all 4 you mentioned. Spent way too much. Probably would have been too soon for me to pick you up anything but I would have done if I had known. Unfortunately don't know when I am next going to be there.

I'd get Daughters of the Dust too if I saw it. Was £8 last time there was a BFI offer this time last year. I regret not getting Psychomania then too so might get that this time as well.

If HMV don't budge I might have to schedule a trip next time I'm in London/Bristol. Thing is that might not be for another month or so, and the offer may have ended. I'll let you know if I do need some help, so thanks for the offer. Alternatively I could get a few of these from Base, but it'd cost a bit more (£2.29 on top of the Fopp price per title...so it does add up).

Do we know how long the Fopp offer is on until? Won't be in Manchester until a week Wednesday (14th) and I'd really like to pick up Life Is Sweet, and maybe Jubilee.

It only started around Nov 1st. I would be very surprised if it's not still running on the 14th.

I 'found' (it's on the extras for the below blu-ray) this curio piece starring L+H:

It's on the Legend Films (Region free) blu-ray release of 'March of the Wooden Soldiers' -

And I believe similar problems were in the Beauty and the Beast release, so it's not a one off thing for BFI? Really disappointing for me, as otherwise the picture looked absolutely gorgeous.
I've just watched that disc. I noticed lots of significant banding.
I'll take screenshots soon.

I've been in correspondence with the BFI apropos the replacement programme for La belle et la bête; and en passant asked about Edward II. Their reply to me yesterday ended with the comment "I’m hoping to be able to make an Edward II announcement so watch this space!".

So whatever space you watch, carry on watching in fervently hopeful mode....

They took down the shameless promotion to make way for the bfi one in Manchester fopp. They may still have some shameless disc on shelves if you look. The arrow sale probably has ended since its ended at hmv (though it was still there last weekend).
