Picked up the 4K set at Target today. I really like the plastic VHS style casing. Wish we'd have gotten it for Season 1, if only for uniformity's sake. I agree, some extras would be nice. With as much as they pawned off the ST kids for promos after season 1, there's certainly no shortage of interviews or something they couldn't include.

Fenway’s Target has 2 more copies of the UHD set, 3 copies of the Blu Ray set.

It would be downright hilarious if this thing becomes impossible to find and it soars in value.

Gotta say, having opened it now, I wish they'd have included a poster like with season 1. I don't see myself ever displaying the photos included; anyone who hasn't seen the show would see a bunch of blurry, up close photos of kids at prom and think the worst of me. A cute idea, but a strange choice for a bonus item. Are they the same photos for the normal Blu Ray set?

Nope. The blu-ray set has 5 different photos than the ones in the 4K edition.

So if you wanted all TEN you gotta buy both versions

All these posts from people who bought it but not a single word on how the video quality is, bonus features, etc. Has anyone actually watched any yet?

I will get mine Thursday. There is only an ad for Lost in Space... no extras are included.

Watching Episode 1 right now. Picture is excellent! Some very fine grain that gives it a tactile quality.
If you have the ability to upmix the soundtrack to DTS-HD/Neural X, please do so. An absolute treat to your ears. Height channels are getting quite an workout.
Extremely happy with this unexpected purchase.

Just got back from two L.A. locations (La Cienega/Rodeo and the one on Jefferson) and both had 6-7 copies of the 4K.

Did everyone else but me know that Tuesday was Stranger Things Day? They really got to work on their advertising...

Watched the first episode.

Excellent use of HDR. The colors, bright and dark highlights, they all benefit from it and make the cinematography really achieve that 80s look. There are plenty of bright objects set against dark backgrounds and the HDR really makes the picture pop giving it that punch that SDR cannot achieve. Black levels are a little raised but not to the point that they distract or ruin anything. There definitely seems like there was some sort of grain added in post-production but it just helps it look more cinematic and it also helps the compression. Speaking of which, I saw no compression artifacts at all during that first episode thankfully.

Audio-wise, pretty much perfect. It’s still a TV production but even then it sounds better than most TV productions, almost reaching movie-level quality in the sound mix. The lossless track of course helps and makes everything sound clear and robust with a nice and hefty low-end. Surrounds were pretty active and provide plenty of atmosphere with some nice discrete effects. Upmixed with Neural X definitely makes it sound more immersive. Hopefully the next season will come with an Atmos mix, both in streaming and on 4K blu-ray.

Wow, completely missed any of the news on this, just saw the tweet that Target sent out. Ordered the 4K version, even though I have the regular Blu Ray set for Season 1. $27 shipped after the red card & team member discount, not too bad.
