PS4 Pro or PS4?

Possibly considering getting a PS4 in the near future but notice the regular PS4's will be considerably cheaper on Black Friday than a PS4 Pro. Is the pro noticeably worth it? I do have a 4K set up with 7.1 surround and HDR etc but not sure how 4K really effects gaming and what not. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask. Just want to weigh all my options before purchasing anything.

Ya got a 4k set up. Might as well go for it. It's cheaper, yeah, but you'll enjoy having the more stable frame rates and extra details that many pro patches offer games.

So I went with your recommendation and went with a PS4 pro. Got one used for the price of a new one because I am a sucker for limited edition stuff and a big star wars fan (sigh). But honestly it comes with Battlefront 2 sealed deluxe edition not even opened and three other games I have no interest in so I will probably sell. It has some scratches minor on the top apparently and the pics show a few scratches on the top but honestly I know its not going to be perfect at the price I paid. Didn't want to shell out $500+ for the Star Wars edition and honestly the Red whatever game didn't peak my interest as a console buyer and the Fifa 19 bundle doesn't ship to the USA unfortunately.



I hope black friday games are not that hard to get because I really want to get Fifa 19

Honestly you should try the Uncharted series. Great adventure games, especially if you like movies like Indiana Jones.

Ended up getting these off Amazon to go with my purchase. Didn't really want to spend or could afford a lot more money than a cheapy right now but it has my favorite color purple and it will at least work I hope lol.

Seriously, give the first Uncharted game a try in the Nathan Drake Collection. If you happen to like it, play the second as it's one of the best games of recent times. If you don't like it then, well, you can stop.

Thanks! I might, but trying to recoup some of the cost here since it wasn't like a $199 BF model like I thought about originally getting lol.

Thanks! Yeah I absolutely love 4K movies with HDR and 7.1 surround so it made it a no brainer.

I do like Indiana Jones. I actually play Tomb Raider on the PC currently on STEAM as I got it as a part of their sale for 99 cents lol.

Thanks! I can't wait. I am actually more excited to play story mode in FIFA 19 as they just added female players recently.

Thanks! I have no idea what the Uncharted series is but he had the best looking and cheapest bundle on eBay for everything along with the sealed Battlefront 2 game. I actually had to google everything that came in a PS4 as some sellers were missing parts but selling for $50 less or vice versa. I liked how he said it includes everything in the original box too lol.

11/13 Spyro Trilogy comes out. That was a fun platformer back on PS1/PS2
I get the Lego games, they’re fun and maybe I’m just bad at games, but I do get a good hour of play-cost of game ratio from most of them.
For an inexpensive downloadable game, Super Motherload is addictive. Dead Nation as well.

I’ve only bought the Sony controllers. 40$ sale price is the best I’ve seen. I think Walmart has the controllers slightly less expensive than other retailers, but with Walmart YMMV.

I would dive into the second Uncharted first, the gameplay is sublime and is the very best of the series. Then go back to the first if you enjoyed that one.

Congrats. Yeah, I think I would have went with the pro as well if just getting the PS4 for the first time. Especially if you have a 4k TV. I might think about a new 4k TV sometime after the PS5. Even though the majority of what I want to play is in VR anyways. But I saw there are some nice size 4k TV's for decent prices.


But it makes more sense for me to wait until the PS5, I think.

Well I have no way to view any 4K content at the moment. And don't want to get a pro right now, though, I did consider upgrading to 4K for Dying Light 2.

If I watch a blu-ray I do it on my VR headset. If I watch TV it's just shows on Dish Network.

At some point I want to get 65-70 inch 4k TV for any flat games I want to play. I'm still pretty content with what I have so can wait a year or two until a PS5 comes around and will automatically be 4K capable.

Also, when I go from playing a lot of VR, then back to a flat game for a bit, feels kind of like I made a sudden jump to 4K lol.

Uncharted is BY FAR my favourite franchise EVER in gaming. The 1st is a bit slow and repetitive, but the characters and story make up for it amidst said slow and repetitive parts. The 2nd is pure amazing! The 3rd & 4th nestle themselves in between the first 2 instalments.

A close 2nd for my favourite franchises is The Last Of Us. Naughty Dog is miles ahead when it comes to gaming entertainment!

Maybe I'll still think about getting the big 4K TV around Dylng Light 2 release. Even if I don't play it on a pro, at least I'll have the added picture size and be ready for 4K whenever the PS5 releases. Plenty of time to think about that still.

I'm using a 55 inch TV right now though which isn't bad at all, especially when sitting close.

4K is definitely worth the extra money. I was skeptical at first but now I will never go back. I even pay the extra money on Netflix for 4K because it is amazing and that is just streaming!
