Yeah, this one's on the way in the mail...for a relatively quiet catalog release, this one has earned superlative marks for being a 4k scan of the negative. I'm quite excited for it.

Since this is a Warner thread, I still can't believe that The Bad and the Beautiful is missing on Blu. That movie still owns the (dubious) distinction for having the most Oscar wins while not receiving a Best Picture nomination.

I know you're gonna love Lust For Life. It is indeed a gorgeous transfer.

And I agree with you about The Bad and the Beautiful. Why, the score alone (by David Raksin) is worth its weight in Blu !!

As a long time member of this site, I have a simple request to the powers that be. Make this thread a “sticky” and separate Warner Archive from WB completely on this site, so we can see the all archive titles by lowest price when we are searching to buy. This needs done with the Sony and Universal MOD releases as well. It is getting harder and harder to keep up with the release and as a classic movie lover with no interest in CGI or what the kids are into, I need an easy place to search.

You can type in "Warner Archive" in the search bar at the top of this site and press enter. It'll bring up 197 Warner Archive titles. Then sort by "lowest price".

How did you get there? Esp given you never asked about a BF sale

BF sale in 2016 and 2017, 2 sales already this year and BF is next week. WBShop has virtually never let anyone know more than a few hrs ahead that a sale is coming. Sometimes the sale is underway for an hour before anyone knows about it.

Of course the December "Apology sale for screwing up BF sale" was far better anyway since it actually had most of the 2017 releases included

I "got there" because we just barely had a 4 for $44 sale in September...So, I assumed we wouldn't have another sale so quickly, that's all.

WBSHop has been doing 3x/year sales since they separated from Warner so until there's not a sale, I Believe

Spring Equinox Sale and BF and/or earlyDec sale have been pretty solidly predictable. The middle sale has gone from June/July/Sept so who knows what it will do next year
