In case anyone's interested in the 2D version of this film but doesn't want a copy from overseas, eOne released it in Canada in July:

https://www.amazon.ca/Little-Prince-...+little+prince

English and French subs. English and French audio.

2D only - the 3D version is NOT included.

Last edited by the13thman; 12-02-2018 at 07:38 PM. Reason: off-topic post - corrected inaccuracies about audio and clarified lack of 3D

This doesn't appear to be in 3d.

So no American release blu yet and don't even seem to be news/rumors of one.

It is such a gorgeous movie, I'm just glad Netflix keeps it on their site so that my son and I can watch it over and over. I want to own it though! Will any of the versions play on a standard blu-ray player?

First, a "standard" Blu-ray player will only play "The Little Prince" (2015) Region A as 2D only and is available from Amazon Canada (this does not include a 3D Blu-ray, but also includes a region 1 DVD.).
There is a Hong Kong 3D version that includes a Region A Blu-ray 3D + 2D Blu-ray.
update: Also the region A 3D + 2D is $13.46 (special price promo) at DDDhouse.com.

Thanks! 2D is fine with me. I'm just not into sitting at home with glasses on to watch a movie. 3D just isn't my thing.

Great 3D Blu-ray (France), great film, great book, great universal/global/worldwide story, good for the soul of all men, women and children of planet Earth:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Prince

Too bad that in Canada they get only the 2D version.
What about in the USA?

No sweat, it's a universal film, the best is to order it from overseas, or wait for the 4K version (universal, it will play in all 4K players).

Highest highness honest recommendation...for everyone. It will bring balance in the world. We need more films like that...just like La La Land.

Can I ask to check for that audio glitch that I reported in my post below? I also have the french edition, albeit the two disc one minus the book.

At 29:53, just as Jeff Bridges is about to say the word "young" there is another word on top that sounds to me like "boom". In the French audio track there is no such effect. Very weird.
I have no idea how to figure out what the hell happened.
Did anyone else spotted on this?
On another note, the movie was amazing and the 3D was fantastic. I highly recommend this movie.

I got the 3d bluray release last year from amazon.fr, well before even the American scheduled release. Very cute movie.

I love good humor, it's missing in the world. People take themselves way too seriously. And they take other people too serious too. I think.

Anyway The Little Prince is cool in 3D. It's a great story too, a universal one.
And La La Land? It should have won the Oscar for best 2016 flick. It was the better film of the bunch, better than Moonlight, definitely.
That all red envelope thing was just funny.

So here's to La La Land @ the end of my previous post.
Emma Stone rocks! She was great also in Birdman.

Talked with the director today at a 3D screening. . He is trying to get an American 3D blu release.
He has lots of supplements to add.(He brought the fox puppet from the movie as well as 2 paper figures). Of all the current foreign releases he said the Japanese one is probably the best one to get.

Just bought this from DDDhouse, $17ish shipped which is very reasonable.

First time ordering from them, what can I expect as far as delivery times roughly to USA?

Was this not a short little tv show on Nickelodeon in the 80s? I remember a show called that and its main character lived on a small planet and visited earth

Looking forward to seeing this in 3D; folks I've talked to who have seen it have spoken highly of it. Also intrigued by the director attempting to get a 3D release out in the US.

Also noticed a few posts back that someone mentioned the standard Canadian BD only has English audio, and wanted to mention (in case anybody reads this thread in the future) that the Canadian BD actually features both English *and* French audio (and subs for both as well).

If you had checked before you posted, you would have seen that that post (at the top of this page) had already been corrected to avoid any confusion or further off-topic discussion about the 2D edition of the film.

The film has been released on 3D Blu-ray in France, Italy, Germany and Hong Kong so those are the editions to be looking out for.

Ah, great, I'm glad that earlier post was clarified. It looks like it was just updated yesterday after I first mentioned the issue in a post yesterday.

I wasn't aware there were such strict rules about any off-topic mentions in posts here. Having been a member here for over eight years, I've often seen threads with comments that take slight tangents. It looks like there's a post above mine over two months old asking about an old Nickelodeon TV show which doesn't mention Blu-ray at all or have anything to do with the 2015 film at all, and there are several other posts in this thread that have no 3D-related content whatsoever.
