Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star Is Born in Best Drama - the year of the popular movie. I wonder if the show's ratings will reflect that.

I can't believe Bohemian Rhapsody got in over First Reformed or Eighth Grade.

HFPA ****ed over Natalie Portman. She would’ve gotten in if she was accepted in the supporting categrory.

That mistake can’t happen again at the Oscars.

Was really hoping for FR. Much better than BR, although I liked it.

you think that's why they got nominated? Certainly isn't because those films are any good.

Black Panther will go down as one of the least deserving films in motion picture history to nab placement in award ceremonies. Totally transparent ploy to get people to watch, in a genre with dozens upon dozens of better films that never got a sniff from these same voters.

Sam Elliott, Toni Collette, and Ethan Hawke will have to hope for some SAG and BFCA love.

mfw on not seeing Toni Collette in the nominations.

On the flipside, nice to see Mirai in the nominations. I'm going to be seeing that this weekend with a friend.

Ticked off about Collette as well!

Nice to see Regina King getting two Golden Globe nominations, along with Adams.

Adams is definitely winning for Sharp Objects (absolutely brilliant performance).

I think it’s safe to say Toni Colette isn’t going to the oscars. She’ll probably win that indie spirit award though.

Speaking of ‘Colette’, I never would’ve imagined Keira Knightley to flop this bad during this award season. All that festival hype is gone.

Foreign-language films aren't eligible for Best Picture at the Golden Globes.

Stone is indeed being campaigned in the Supporting category for The Favourite.

Otherwise, agreed, there are some rather noticeable omissions.

Bohemian Rhapsody for Drama? Thought for sure that would be Musical/Comedy.

Rest of the nominations look fine at a cursory glance. Nothing really jumps out as being a surprising inclusion or omission.

Didn’t know that, thanks.

I am pleased with Jim Carrey’s nom. So disappointed with the Yorgos snub.

Eighth Grade is actually in the comedy category, but they must have been pretty cool on it to not even nominate it there. First Reformed is just not a Globe friendly movie, I'll always figured Hawke needed major critics group support (which he is getting so far) to be nominated.

No real shockers here, though I think Bohemian Rhapsody getting into Drama (I figure it would be nominated, but in the musical section) is a big boost for that film.
