Flacco makes sense for a team that has all the other pieces ready to go and just needs a halfway competent QB. So yeah, Jax or maybe NYG could want him, but the latter would still need to draft someone as well.

Teams should be trying to sign Manziel out of the CFL. Now that he has his head back on, and has kept a lower profile, maybe he deserves another chance.

Possibly Jameis Winston, Teddy Bridgewater, Joe Flacco and Ryan Tannehill. Nobody I'd want to start a franchise with but not too bad. Not touching Blake Bortles.

Teams will be wary of Winston, not enough/consistent talent to be worth the potential off the field BS.

I had no idea Flacco was only 33, I assumed older. If BAL is done with him I would think another team in need of a QB would take a shot for a couple years, not a lot of guaranteed money or front loaded deal.

If Sherman made the case to bring Kaep to the Niners that could be taken that he doesn't have faith in Beathard and Mullens. Which even if he doesn't, that's not something you air out in public.
Take records aside (I am assuming you don't follow the Niners closely?) both Beathard and Mullens have performed about as well as can be expected given the circumstances the Niners have been dealt this season. Why would they swap in someone who hasn't played in two years and probably of similar talent level? For fan and media reaction? The media is going to go with any Kaep story no matter where it lands, no reason for it to land back in SF when the organization has (AGAIN!) been down this road already. Fan reaction/approval? SF and Santa Clara are probably the most liberal left leaning areas in the country and fan support for his kneeling in the area was pretty indifferent and muted compared to the sensation it was in the media and rest of the country.
Sherman's point is that a team like the Redskins are in need of a QB (Niners are not both in regards to talent and health) with two of theirs going down within weeks of each other and have brought back guys like Sanchez and Johnson who some want to portray as less talented than Kaep, which is debatable, and at the same time signing Foster after his arrest. It really isn't hard to figure out. Also, you have to look at the context of how it was asked. He didn't call a press conference himself, get the podium and say "guys can we talk about Kaep?" The media knew they would get some sound bites from him, a thoughtful guy.
It's just crazy that we are still talking about this years later. He's never going to play in the NFL again, that ship sailed when he sued the league for collusion. He had opportunities with other teams and he passed or his stupid gf effed things up for him (comments about Ravens owner and Lewis) His new gig is that of an inarticulate social justice martyr/poster boy, which apparently he is able to live off financially. I don't even dislike the guy but ugh, enough with him.

Sherman has always been a mouth and this is the latest example. It was just a misguided thing to say, considering his own QB situation, which even if Jimmy G was healthy might not be a good. Both his loses were to good teams.
Just sayin’ when you only have two wins, all options should be on the table. Especially at the QB position. If SF were locked into a playoff spot with elite QB play, his comment would have more traction. As it stand his comment comes across as desperate, and just tacky.

Agent Scott Boras has confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray will not pursue a career in professional football.

Murray was awarded the Heisman Trophy last night, an honor he earned by passing for over 4,000 yards while also contributing 51 touchdowns (40 passing, 11 rushing) for the 12-1 Sooners. However it appears his future is in baseball as Murray is set to join the Athletics, who selected him ninth overall in this year's draft, after the season. Murray recently acknowledged a desire to continue playing both sports if "possible," though his agent claims that decision has already been made. "From a contractual perspective, it is set," said Boras. As good as he was at Oklahoma, it's debatable how Murray would have fared in the NFL, especially given his relatively short stature (5'9"). The 21-year-old outfielder received a $4.66 million signing bonus from Oakland earlier this year.
