Universal just released standalone versions of Child Play 2 and 3 in October, so I wouldn't hold your breath for those coming as CE's from Scream

The only way they can further milk these films is either collectors edition or 4K UHD.

I agree, but...

What I'm trying to say is, Universal is not going to license these titles while there's still money to be made off their recent releases.

Don't forget that there is a remake coming out next year so they have built-in marketing as well.

I got the Child's Play boxset. I'm good on these. No need to pay $30 for 1, 2 & 3 separately. I think I got the whole set for cheaper than that. Surely we can get more creative with our release requests.

it always boils down to this with Scream reissues--

there are people that salivate over new extras... and others that don't.
I fall in the latter category so, like you, the boxed set is 100% fine with me.

I do think Universal will license Child’s Play 1 & 2 after they’ve made money on the stand alone releases. They might even wait until Chucky 8 and the subsequent definitive box set.

In the case of reissues and double dips, I want a CP 2 and 3 Collectors Edition. There are some decent deleted scenes and alternate endings to be had.

Hell the current version available skips the whole ‘Andy meets Tyler’ scene in 3. Those two just know each other in the way it’s released now. Some commentataries would be great too as neither sequel as any.

I’m a huge Child’s Play fan. That’s a pretty popular franchise. We can do better than what is currently available.

Warner Archives was going to do it, several years ago, but I think they ran into elements issues and/or rights issues and it just never materialized.

Most Scream Factory re-releases don't do a whole lot for me, but I would jump at the chance for Child's Play 2 & 3 collectors edtions. There is a plethora of material out their for Child's Play 2 from EPK materials, specials, guest appearances, alternate endings, deleted scenes, tv versions, etc. If there were ever 2 films that needed the re-release collectors edition treatment it's these.

With that said I'd also throw undisclosed sums of money at Scream Factory if they released a proper Nightmare on Elm street set. I'd of course first complain about it being overpriced but I'd likely turn a blind eye and order immediately.

Watching my copy now and i can confirm the Director’s Cut is HD with SD inserts. The inserts actually don’t look half bad.
The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the opening title card on the Director’s Cut as well.

All fixed. The Collection was listed in the list section, but the cover art was missing. That has now been fixed.
