Both Dalton movies are great. He's perfect as James Bond, and how I imagine the literary Bond when reading the Ian Fleming novels.

That's pretty much one of the top-three Bond movies ever made, and most fans of the series put it at or near the top of their rankings of the films.

Agreed. Despite that great 60's flavor and Connery still in his prime, I find THUNDERBALL painfully overlong and terribly draggy. It's also hindered by Claudine Auger's Domino, the first truly dull Bond heroine (she's so easily eclipsed by Luciana Paluzzi's luscious Fiona Volpe). I know YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE is a far more divisive film, but it's a speedier, wittier and more entertaining Bond adventure by far.

It's always fascinating to see how individual fans rank the Bond films because there is never a universal agreement; everyone has their own favorites and least favorites. I personally love Thunderball and...brace yourself...cannot stand Goldfinger. As for You Only Live Twice...I totally agree with you! That movie is the s**t!

No, that wheelie is the shiznit. Its the one where he puts the semi up on its back wheels to go through the fire that annoys me. The semi on its side wheels is an incredible stunt

I didn't see In Your Majesty until well into my late 20s (my first watch through of all of 007s) and I found it incredible. That dark ending sealed the deal for me completely. Connery's shadow I guess was too much for the Aussie but he did fit the shoes well and it had a very strong script (chicken-phobic women and kilt ski lodges aside). Time has treated it very well, even into the 80s the film was so derided I never saw so much as an airing on tv. It was just Moore moore moore when I was a kid.

I'm glad to see I'm not in the minority after all.
It's possible the ones I've come across who didn't like the film could well be because they didn't like Lazenby rather than disliking the movie itself. However for me personally, I agree it's very good indeed.

My favourite of the Connery Bond's is You Only Live Twice and From Russia With Love. I tend to agree with you about Thunderball - never been a favourite of mine either.

Agreed. I can only recall seeing OHMSS once as a kid, and the next time I saw it was well into my late teens - the same as with Dr. No.

Watched Golden Eye. Pierce Brosnan never was one of my favorite Bonds, but he did a great job in this one. Sean Bean was awesome as 006. I kinda wish they could have brought him back in later movies. The story, plotting, etc. was very well done.

Almost done watching Tomorrow Never Dies. I like Brosnan in this one also. The story is decent but definitely not as good as Goldeneye was. Still, an enjoyable Bond movie.

Put on the opening scene from Goldeneye to show my GF the similarities to Serra's score for Leon and holy god the transfer is even worse than I remember.

GoldenEye is AWESOME. Love the action, love the music, love the 'have their cake and eating it too' by pointing out how much a "sexist, misogynist dinosaur" Bond was but still having him shag loads of birds, fight off the threat of a rogue Russian satellite etc etc. It's almost like the best of all worlds when it comes to Bond and I adores it, precious.

I try to enjoy it, but it just feels like a repeating sequence with no development:

10 - expository dialogue scene directing Bond to next action set-piece

20 - action set-piece

30 - go to 10

I will admit that the camp and silliness sometimes got to be a bit much with the Roger Moore movies but I actually think the best non-Craig Bond movies that I have seen are Roger Moore's first two: Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun. I thought both of them were excellent films and were better than any of the Connery films.
