Thanks Pans...seems to be the logical thing to do but wanted to ask. I have around 20 4Ks and forget exactly what I have if I keep them mixed with my Blu-rays.

Ideally I'd want them on completely different shelves. But my collection is in a sweet spot where it doesn't require more than one shelf unit overall; while if it grows to the same size for 4K as blu-ray (easily see this will selling off, too) multiples will be required and it'll be one next to the other. Or 4K in the primary viewing space and the blu-ray shelf in the living room 3D plasma space.

I keep them separate, partly because I have to, lol.

Mixed in. Can’t see logic in keeping separate, I guess it depends on what ones you have and how you organise them in the first place.

But for me, I have UHDs like Avengers Infinity War, other Marvels like Black Panther but why wouldn’t I keep these with the other Marvels? I picked up Star Trek Beyond when it dropped to £8 but would look odd away from the first two. Same with SW VIII (is it?) and Solo away from other Star Wars. Rambo trilogy sitting nowhere near Rambo (4). Die Hard on its own?

Thing is my collection is organised so when I fancy watching Justice League for example, I’ll go to the super hero section and select the UHD which makes more sense then finding it amongst a load of UHDs unrelated, like having it sat between Peter Rabbit and Skyscraper. Each to there own of course.

Separate, but it gets annoying with 3D/ 4K combos as I keep my 3D blu ray separate as well.

Well, once I went 4K, it's getting hard for me to get back to watching standard blu rays, let alone DVDs, so I have to keep them separated, hoping that my huge collection will go 4K eventually... in 10-15 years

Definitely mixed in. It keeps franchises together, and the cases are the same size as Blu-ray.

mine are all mixed in and some are in standard steelbooks as well, I pretty much know where they are but sometimes I will look at my collection list if I want to specifically watch a 4k and don't want to look through everything

Mine are mixed in. I have to keep my series (Marvel, Star Wars, Fast and Furious, etc...) together.

When I go to watch stuff, I reach for the title, not the format. Therefore, everything is mixed together regardless of format or case type. The only separating factor is genre (and from there, subgenres, franchises, spine color and aesthetics).

Mixed - any storage I have needs to make the most efficient use of the limited space that I have. If I want to watch a movie, I just scan my shelf in alphabetical order to find the title I want; I find it simple and functional.

A combo of both.

If I have an entire series in 4K or the movies are standalone with no sequels - then they are put on their own separate shelf

If I have one 4K and the rest are Blus for a particular series - mixed in

If I have a situation where I have 4K duplicates of titles where I also have them on blu....the 4K goes on the 4K shelf and the blus go in the blu ray shelves.

Mixed in and alphabetical. I love watching the blue cases slowly fade to black as catalog upgrades arrive.

Mixed in, I see no reason why to separate. The only reason I separated dvds from Blu-ray’s was because of the case size, but blu and 4k are the same size and look very similar.

I’m not an animal. 4K’s are on a separate bookcase, Blu-rays together with box sets on top and bottom shelf, DVD’s separate as well. I have 2 more half bookcases with more DVD TV shows.

Really? Such a shame, some great looking BDs especially through a decent 4k set up. Personally I can’t see a reason to upgrade Edge of Tomorrow after seeing how amazing it looks. Nothing wrong with 90% of BDs and have many DVDs I still enjoy watching. I appreciate they’re not the level of BD or UHD, but then at the same time I appreciate they’re still a great format with too many great films still stuck there....and coming from the VHS era they still look good to me. Dog Soldiers is one that springs to mind. I won’t stop myself watching True Lies, Panic Room or any other dvd only favourite just cause my eyes have treated to top level quality.
